I thought this would be easy enough changing the parameters in the URL for share, or the URL in the embed code. But when I post this on Facebook, even though the URL's will link to YouTube and play at the correct :16 mark, they always start from :00 when playback is initiated inside Facebook.

Hence, when you share the video on your wall, the actual meta data for the video is taken from the site pointed to by the og:url tag which is the actual video without the t parameter that sets the playback start time.

How do I play live chess with facebook friends where the players can see the moves real time? The facebook app either allows to play with a random person realtime or with a friend where I have to constantly refresh the page.

Chess on FB - leaderboards - I have someone showing up in my leaderboard that I don't play with - does that mean the other person I am playing chess with is playing with them so they are in our leaderboard?

Overall, 84% of teens say they have or have access to a game console at home, and 90% say they play video games of any kind (whether on a computer, game console or cellphone). While a substantial majority of girls report having access to a game console at home (75%) or playing video games in general (83%), those shares are even higher among boys. Roughly nine-in-ten boys (92%) have or have access to a game console at home, and 97% say they play video games in some form or fashion.

A note with recorded short audioclip in it was shared into Facebook. Unfortunately the *.amr clip cannot be played in any of the browsers (or in the FB app itself). Add on is required which nobody does provide.

A multiplayer mobile game that we are working on connects players through Google Play and Game Center but we would also like to add an option to play with your Facebook friends and here's the question:

Like Instagram Stories before it, Facebook Stories is a pretty blatant Snapchat clone, from the user interface and core functionality all the way down to its name. Facebook has introduced a number of similar copycat features over the past year, on properties spanning from Messenger to Live, but putting the new Stories offering front-and-center on its main mobile app's refurbished camera might be one of the most direct plays against Snapchat to date.

GamesIndustry International spoke with Kixeye's VP of Product Marketing, John Getze, about the subscription feature. "The game we're testing on is Backyard Monsters; it's our franchise title with 20 million plus installs to date," said Getze. "It seemed like a great opportunity to provide some benefits to our most loyal players." The subscription, called the D.A.V.E. Club by Kixeye, provides both in-game currency and some unique features for $9.95 a month.

"We've got people who spend money in the game, so we wanted to give them the equivalent value that they would spend plus a bunch of other unique features that they only get through the subscription," noted Getze. "It's really geared at trying to give them a benefit rather than loop in new players."

New monetization methods in the social game space, if they work, could be of benefit to both developers and gamers. It's not clear at all what the response will be, though. "We've never done anything like this before, so we don't really know how it's going to go," said Getze. "We want our users to see it as a benefit. I really hope it increases the stickiness of the gameplay that is going on."

The real test for Facebook games will come as subscriptions roll out to all developers in July. Subscriptions could be of major importance to many game developers, both by making their revenue stream more reliable and potentially by increasing the percentage of players that spend money in their games. This could be more important for a company like Zynga, which has a low rate of players that buy virtual goods, than for companies like Kixeye which have a more focused demographic that spends money on virtual goods at a much greater rate.

"Zynga supports any improvement to the Facebook platform and player experience that makes it easier to play and pay. We're proud of the long term partnership we have with Facebook and today's announcement doesn't change the economic relationship between the two companies. We'll be working with Facebook over the coming months as they phase out Facebook credits and will be sharing more details on this when we report our Q2 earnings, including any possible changes to our accounting going forward after the implementation of the announced changes."

"We believe Facebook's new payment product to support pricing in local currency will streamline payment methods on their Platform and ultimately offer more flexible pricing options. And, while its early days, we are looking forward to be bringing players more options to engage in our games through our subscription model and have already begun testing subscriptions in a number of our games on Facebook." - Zynga spokesperson

People who don't play a particular game won't get notices in their news feeds when friends send gifts of pigs or plum trees. Previously, they had to hide or block the game or the players to escape the steady stream of updates.
