Facebook acts up in chrome, and wonder if anyone has the same issue. When typing, and this is only on facebook, it delays, and comments and messages I write show up 5-10 seconds after I type it. Only facebook, figured it was something with facebook, but works awesome on Opera and Edge. I removed all the extensions on chrome, and cleared cache/history. I logged off all my other facebook log ins (messenger on my phone for example), just can't figure it out.

If you are seeing these notifications only on the facebook page, and not on other pages, then it is not a browser notification, but a feature of facebook itself. You will need to check your settings within facebook to fix this, assuming facebook allows that flexibility. Blocking components a website wants to put on its own page would require a browser plugin that edits the web pages before you see them.

I'm having an issue blocking [link] [/link] and [link] [/link] sites in the latest browser Google chrome and Firefox, I already block the Social Media in Web Filter also in Application control, but when I check the logs & Reports in fortigate the result was Facebook and youtube was Blocked., but the sites are still accessible in client. I also use URL Filter but same issue.

I also block the QUIC in Application Control, is their any way that I can block facebook and youtube from accessing that I can add in my FW, thanks thank sir so much appreciated the suggestion and help.

My guess is that facebook.com is filtered by your "strong proxy to avoid social networking sites" but that access to this site is allowed for some authorized users. Thus what you see here is the authentication requested by the proxy you use. Usually proxy authentication is different from site authentication and it would show you that the proxy and not facebook requires authentication. But some software/appliances can be configured to issue a site authentication when used as a transparent proxy, i.e. when not being explicitly configured as proxy inside the browser.

This leaves the question why you get this authentication request everywhere. My guess is that you don't get the dialog everywhere but on all sites which embed the Facebook Like button, which is almost everywhere. The site connect.facebook.net you see in the dialog is the Facebook SDK for the Like button.

I am having this annoying horizontal scroll bar in my Facebook news feed (home page) from last 3-4 days. This is happening only in the news feed (home page) and only in Chrome browser (latest version in Windows 10). Moreover, I have found it only in this URL www.facebook.com but not in m.facebook.com. It also disappears in any other page (like profile or settings page) or in any other browser. I have double checked my browser's setting, updated it, magnification set to be 100%, PC's resolution is also perfect and also tried clearing cookies. Nothing helped. It looks like some Facebook script is damaged or something gone wrong in Chrome. It's just too annoying! I am just getting curious to know if it is in my browser or something has gone wrong at Facebook's side or if there is any solution? (This scroll bar is always there even when not in inspect element mode.)

one thing to note the turbo ad finder is no longer on chrome extension, despite the website working. do you know of any way of contacting the owners to see if they will be continuing the turbo ad finder? ff782bc1db
