I noticed that the CSS you're importing doesn't actually have the "--MapLayers" class.Though some of the Office UI documentation (like this one: ) shows MapLayers exists as an icon in the "FabricMDL2Icons" font family, I don't think it does, or at least not in whatever version of the font family this other documentation uses: -us/fabric#/styles/web/icons (you can search by MapLayers and notice that it won't be found on this 2nd site). You'll also notice that the "MayLayers" icon is '\uE81E', but I think that's only in the "Segoe MDL2 Assets" font-family (which is native to Windows 10: -us/windows/uwp/design/style/segoe-ui-symbol-font).

If your code is running in an environment where icons may have already been registered, you may need to disable the warnings. (By default, registering the same icon twice will ignore subsequent registrations.) To initialize icons and avoid duplication warnings, pass options into initializeIcons:

With Fabric, there is a need for new icons. Good friend, MVP and community contributor, tpn Rel, opened a few issues to add new icons to the official Microsoft repository for Power BI icons. However, Microsoft decided to provide the Fabric Icons in a different way directly via the learn website.

I took these icons from Microsoft Learn, and as stated on the website these icons can be used for architectural diagrams, training material and documentation. The draw.io library includes the following set of icons:

Do Not Dry Clean: Clothing with the do not dry clean symbol should be washed using the gentlest setting on your washer. This will minimize agitation and potential damage to the fabric. You can also place inside a mesh bag or turn the garment inside out, running it on a short, delicate cycle to clean.

Washing your clothing in the proper temperature water can affect how clean garments get during the wash as well as control wear and tear on the fabric. Not all fabrics are created equally, and some are more delicate than others, so understanding your clothes washing symbols and the proper temperature water to use when washing your clothes will get them as clean as possible while also ensuring they last longer.

Delicate Cycle: This wash cycle symbol is a tub with water and two lines underneath. These cycles are meant for more delicate garments that could be prone to damage and uses low agitation, slow spin, and colder temperature water to wash clothes and protect fabric.

Normal Cycle: The Normal Cycle symbol on your tumble dryer is a general go-to setting that will dry fabrics using heat. Items like towels, sheets, jeans, t-shirts, and sweatpants can be dried on this setting. Care should be taken when using this cycle as putting things like sweaters or other natural fiber garments could cause them to be shrunk or damaged.

Permanent Press Cycle: The Permanent Press Cycle symbol on your tumble dryer is a setting that can help remove or reduce wrinkles in fabrics with synthetic fibers. This more casual cycle can also be used to dry some natural fiber fabrics that wrinkle easily as the Permanent Press Cycle tends to be more gentle with medium heat.

I want to create a hoverable tooltip in the form, is it possible to use the Fluent UI Icons outside a Vue element?

I could download the svg files of the icons, but it would be neat to directly reference it.

Also if there is ever updates to the icon set, will this code just be able to access the new icons on its own or do I need to do something manual like re-compile the sppkg and upload it again to the app catalogue?

I really love the icons used and provided by Microsoft in their products. And I always wish to use them in my projects. But it is pretty hard to find a way to use them. This post will help you to use them in your project!

Fabric icons are clear, minimal, and consistent across all platforms. They follow the focused and rational principles of our design system in both metaphor and style. Icons can be viewed on the Icons page.

We use existing metaphors whenever possible to maintain consistency between products and also to help avoid confusion for users. Metaphors don't change based on operating system, with the exception of specific icons that follow platform standards.

Most icons are stroked and have a fixed stroke width, to ensure that they have a consistent look feel. There are a small number of filled icons which are used in specific edge-cases, these are usually icons of smaller sizes, where the detail of stroked icons becomes too complex.

Fabric standard icons sizes are 24px, and we have some mini icons of 16px16px. These should are designed to be used at these sizes and should not be scaled. These icons are used on all platforms and screen sizes. We have some other custom icons at other sizes that should only be used in their specific use-cases. eg. market icons on the FINN home page.

Icons can be interactive or static. Interactive icons can be used either alone or combined with text. For example, a trashcan icon for deleting content, or a heart to add to favorites. Static icons are used in combination with text, to help highlight and visually reinforce the information the text is providing. For example a "speedometer" icon next to the information about mileage.

Fabric icons are designed to have a similar visual weight when used next to one another. The weight of their strokes is designed specifically to be balanced with typography and other UI elements. The stroke width should not be changed and icons should not be scaled.

Every single icon is pixel-snapped for its specific size, so scaling icons to suit your design is not allowed. This can cause the proportions to be off-balance and can disrupt the already established and intended visual hierarchy. Icons are carefully designed to have consistent stroke weights, corner radii, and proportions at each size.

In addition to washing and ironing, the laundry process also includes drying. To prevent your garment from shrinking or becoming misshapen when drying, you can find a number of helpful symbols on the fabric care label, informing you of the most surefire way to dry your clothes without causing any damage to the fabric.

Fabric uses a custom font for its iconography. This font contains glyphs that you can scale, color, and style in any way. You can even flip them for right-to-left localization. To use the icons, combine the base ms-Icon class with a modifier class for the specific icon.

This open source icon is named "fabric" and is licensed under the open source CC0 license. It's a colored icon. It's available to be downloaded in SVG and PNG formats (available in 256, 512, 1024 and 2048 PNG sizes).

It's part of the icon set "Stack Icons", which has 1,193 icons in it.

This graphic is also a logo. It's useful if you want to show the logo (for branding purposes) on your website or app.

If you need this icon available in another format, it should be pretty straight forward to download it as an SVG image file, and then import it into apps like Figma, Photoshop, Pixlr or Snappa. Converting it to an ICO, JPEG or WebP image format or file type should also be pretty simple (we hope to add that feature to Iconduck soon).

Yes! This icon has been open sourced, and can be downloaded at no charge / for free. We also don't require you to sign up for Iconduck, but you can join our mailing list to get notifications on when new icons are available.

In March 1970, the Canadian Government Specifications Board published 86-GP-1, Standard for Care Labelling of Textiles,[4] which promoted a symbol-based textile care labelling system in which symbols were colored: green indicated "no precautions are necessary", yellow indicated "some caution is necessary", and red indicated "prohibited". Publication 86-GP-1 was revised several times over the following three decades; the most noteworthy change was in 1979, when temperatures changed from Fahrenheit to Celsius, and any additional instructions were to be added in text, in both English and French. In 2003, the system was withdrawn in favor of a black-and-white symbol-based system harmonized with North American and international standards.[5][6] The inclusion of care symbols on garments made or sold in Canada has always been voluntary; only fabric content labels are mandatory (since 1972).

A circle in the square symbolizes a clothes dryer. One dot requires drying at reduced temperature and two dots for normal temperature. The crossed symbol means that the clothing does not tolerate machine drying. In the US and Japan, there are other icons for natural/line drying.

Test methods included in the Guidelines measure fabric performance under standard laboratory conditions and are intended to represent the most current test version. Note: Individual ACT Member product information may represent a different version of a test method depending on the date the product was introduced to market.
