We have several hundred Dell laptops and have found that with express charge the batteries do wear out much faster. What the means is that the battery will, at a faster rate, lose the ability to hold a charge and will not stay charged as long as it would if you were to use the standard charge feature.

I am not sure exactly what the Dell specific setting does, but here is some info on laptop battery charging rates. If you charge a battery faster (at higher rate) it wear much faster and loose its capacity much faster over time, than it would if you charged it at a slow or standard rate. The slower charging rate is better for the battery and the battery will keep its charge for longer. So if you use the express charge it will charge the battery faster, but will increase the wear on the battery and diminish its capacity over time. It will also cause your a/c adapter to consume more power and run much warmer, causing that to wear faster than it normally would. I recommend sticking with the standard charge rate and only use express, if you really need to charge you battery quickly, say you forgot to charge it for a long trip where you cannot charge it for a while.

Thank you for your question and answer. We are experiencing extremely short battery life in all of our E5530s from Dell. All of these laptops have express charge as a default in Bios.. Now I know what the deal is. :)

I have an am1m-a motherboard, and as everyone knows, without support for ssd nvme.

But reading material on this site, I decided to add the nvme module in the bios, getting expected result.

I used MMtools to modify the BIOS, and Afuwinx64 to write to the bios "within Windows 10 Pro 64 bit",with no problem. With some changes to the procedure.

If there are many people who have an AM1M-A (asus) motherboard, they have not had a chance to put a fast ssd on this board, but thanks to the Win-Raid Forum, this has been possible.

In my case it worked for me, Amd Athlon 5150 with Radeon R3

8gb ram.

Thank you all.

So as I'm waiting for a replacement cable I was doing some research and found the post as follows that could be a temp fix however I can't find these settings in our bios and am hoping someone can help me find them

Except, what do you name the Games Express BIOS? I tried games_express.pce as that seemed to be a common online naming scheme for it, but no dice. The emulator refuses to load once I choose that bios and I had to edit the default core options file.

I have all of the virtualization options I know of in my bios enabled. I'm able to do VFIO in linux to a windows guest, but I'd like to do windows with passthrough to a linux guest using hyper-v. I get the following error attempting to dismount the device: 2351a5e196
