God wants to bless you in your family life, in your health, in your studies, with your material things and in your ministry. He wants to bless you in every area of your life but you have to remember that His blessings never bring sorrow. Many people in life believe that it is impossible to achieve true happiness. They may have every material possession but their families are destroyed. This is why they come to the conclusion that true happiness does not exist. However, this is a great lie, because the blessing of God enriches and does not add sorrow.

One day, as I unloaded my four small children from our big grey Suburban, and herded them to swim lessons, I watched the other mothers with their children. For some reason, I thought of that magnet holding up art work on my refrigerator door. Sadly, I realized the words on that little piece of wood described exactly what most of us moms do most of the time, simply "endure" our blessings.

But, with time, training, consistency, discipline, modeling, prayer, love, patience, some frustration and anger, (okay, a lot of it), then more prayer, love, patience, modeling, discipline, consistency, training, and time, it does end! Nearly every single attitude and behavior which makes you want to scream and pull out your hair comes to an end. It is just a stage!

Of course, there is more I would have done a little different, or a lot better, or even completely eliminated from the years of raising my precious blessings! Like my magnet originally read, I endured so many days. But, with God's help I learned to truly enjoy them with just a tweak of my attitude, a change in perspective, or a good ole "kick in the pants."

On the topic of math, Douglas Wilson, author of The Case for Classical Christian Education (also available on Scribd), had little specific to say. But I did enjoy his focus on modeling for kids. This quote made me think specifically of math learning and games:

Since all spiritual blessings are in Christ (Ephesians 1:3), it is in a faith relationship with him that we enjoy everything that God offers: forgiveness of sins, eternal life, the presence of the Holy Spirit, hope, joy and peace.

Surely, some are doing much better financially than others and if you have lost your job, home or fortune this past year, you might find it harder to understand why you should be thankful. We understand and sympathize.

Above this editorial, Rebecca Harding Davis gives many of us the greatest reason that we should be thankful. And, therefore, we thank God today for all his bounties and all his blessings and, for those with faith, we know that even in the midst of tribulations, the Lord is with us.

These quotes all sound great. They motivate, encourage and inspire people to go out and start enjoying life. Live the way you want, seize the day, have fun, be happy, and enjoy every moment! Sounds like an everyday party right?

A biblical viewpoint says, seek God first and foremost, learn and obey His Word, commit your goals to Him, include Him in everything you do, and He will bless you, give you success, and ensure you truly enjoy life to the fullest.

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.

God has given us food, drink, a place to lay our head, ability to enjoy the fruit of our labor, and people in our lives that provide good company. So often we overlook these things that we are blessed with daily, or take them for granted, forgetting that not everyone in the world enjoys these basic privileges.

There is the enjoyment that comes from cultivating our relationship with God, the enjoyment of the little things in life that He gives us daily, and then there are the many other blessings that God can bestow on us as well.

Our enemy the devil only needs us to give him just a little bit of room to creep into our thoughts to plant seeds of lies. This is why, spending more time with God, and working on cultivating our relationship with Him is vital. In fact, our true enjoyment of life depends on it.

You want to truly enjoy your life more? Again I say, start cultivating your relationship with God more, and I guarantee you will begin to see immediate results! In fact, not only will you start to experience more joy in your life, but God will start to give you more time to do the things you enjoy.

All that time you used to spend comparing yourself to others, and being jealous over the material things your non-Christian counterparts have, can now be better spent on you growing your relationship with God, and truly enjoying life.

Your thoughts have helped me uncover my wrong thinking in the area of enjoying the blessings God has given me. Your story brought back memories of just one year ago for me. My first Grandchild, just a little early, and a couple weeks in the N-ICU. My little Lucy turned 1 in September, and what a blessing she is! You do learn to savor every moment because no one but God knows what is in store for you. Yvonne, I know the blessing and love you have as I had the cutest first grandson, who still has my total heart and he is in college now! When he calls me, my heart still beats a little faster.
