Hello. Like the title says, my Logitech keyboard has been typing double letters. At first it was just doubling the same letter (i.e. type "a" and get "aa") but after I've cleaned the keys with 91% alcohol, uninstalled and reinstalled the keyboard driver, and tried my keyboard on another device as well (same issue) the keyboard now types double letters but one of them is wrong (ie. Type "a" and get "ad", type "u" and get "up", type "i" and get "ip").

Touch typing is a typing technique in which you always use the same finger to type each key, without looking at the keyboard. It takes some practice to learn, but training these consistent finger motions will enable you to type much faster than you could otherwise. The How-to-Type.com typing lessons will teach you to touch type using the standard QWERTY typing technique. The lessons consist of basic typing and finger training exercises to guide you through the skills for typing each key.

Practice keeping your fingers positioned on the home row, curved slightly down so that you can easily extend them to type the keys on the rows above and below with minimal movement. Let the palms of your hands float just above the keyboard and rest your thumbs on the space bar. Strike the keys with a quick and light touch.

It is also a good practice to maintain a relaxed and comfortable posture to minimize muscle strain and fatigue. Raise the height of your seat, or stand if necessary so that your arms and hands are resting comfortably down at the keyboard and your eyes are glancing down at your screen. Adjust your screen so that you can clearly see what you are typing without straining your eyes and neck. As you practice typing, remember that you will carry the habits you develop now with you into the future, whenever you type on a keyboard.

If you are making mistakes, slow down. You will not get faster by making lots of typos because it will take more time to go back and fix them all. Furthermore, practicing poor technique will impede your progress by reinforcing your mistakes and bad habits. Typing practice is an exercise, not a race. Type precisely at a rate that you are comfortable with. Your speed will naturally increase as your typing skills

You will find this tip most useful once you have confidently learned the positions of all the keys and are practicing to increase your typing speed. Think about the words just ahead of where you are typing and imagine your fingers moving across the keyboard to type them. Your typing will really begin to flow when you can achieve this.

If you are just learning the keys and not quite ready for this, you can employ the power of visualization in your practice by imagining each letter on the keyboard and your finger moving to it before you type it.

The problem started with a wireless keyboard, so I switched to wired. When it started again, I thought it was because it was an old keyboard so I bought a new one. When it still happened, I thought it was because the replacement was cheap so I bought another one that was middle of the road on price. It's doing it again. Sometimes if I unplug the keyboard it will stop after a few minutes. Clearly the problem is not with the keyboard.

I'm a rather new In Design User, so maybe this is an easy fix? I recently downloaded a brochure template from Creative Market and when I try to change the text, my keyboard is typing the letter before it. For example, I'll hit the "S" key and it will type a "R" or I'll hit the "F" key and it will appear "E". My only thought was to go into Paragraph Style Options and make sure the language is set to English, which it is. Is there another setting I should fix? I know it's specific to this document because a new document or using Photoshop has the correct setting.

This unit also has excellent wireless versatility. You can connect with up to three devices at once using Bluetooth, or you can get a variant that includes a USB receiver, which is great if you tend to work in areas with a lot of Bluetooth noise, like an office or a co-working space. The battery life isn't excellent, but it promises around 10 hours of active use, and you can always continue to use it while it charges with a standard wired connection.

A few other variants of this keyboard are available, like a variant with full RGB backlighting or a hot-swappable variant that allows you to easily swap out the switches, which is particularly impressive given its low price point. Whatever option you spring for, you're guaranteed a solid typing experience without breaking the bank.

You can still find a good unit even if your budget is tight. The best cheap typing keyboard that we've tested is the Logitech K380. This little unit is very popular among students and on-the-go professionals who need a light, portable keyboard to slide into a laptop bag or toss into a backpack. It comes in several colors, including a newly released Blueberry option, so you don't have to limit yourself to the classic grey and black offerings that are the default of cheap units.

This keyboard supports a Bluetooth connection with up to three devices simultaneously, making it great for multi-device setups with tablets, phones, or laptops. Using a hotkey in the function row, you can easily change between paired devices, making the pairing process quite intuitive. However, while the compact size and thin frame are excellent for portability, it can take a little bit to get used to the layout as the keys are smaller than average and can feel cramped. That said, there's enough space between the keys to help you avoid typos, and once you're used to the layout, typing is a breeze.
