Now, the root of the problem here is that the Linux Mint folks screwed up their linuxmint-21.2-cinnamon-64bit-edge.iso, because, if you look at its content, you will find that the /efi/boot/bootx64.efi, i.e. the 64-bit UEFI bootloader for x86 systems, is a symbolic link that points to a file that does NOT exist on the ISO (because it points to /etc/alternatives/shimx64.efi.signed which probably existed on the developer's machine but is most certainly not present on the ISO-9660 file system). So, of course, when you create the media using File System Transposition (or ISO mode as Rufus calls it), the 64-bit UEFI bootloader will not work and the media will not boot, even though this has nothing to do with using NTFS.

You might be able to get a bootable media by using DD Mode when Rufus prompts you (Remember when you got a prompt from Rufus asking you whether you wanted to write the image in ISO Mode or DD Mode, and advising you to try DD Mode if you had an issue with ISO Mode?), but the main issue, really, is that the Linux Mint folks borked their linuxmint-21.2-cinnamon-64bit-edge.iso (but curiously, their linuxmint-21.2-xfce-64bit.iso is fine) and I have now reported this to them.

Hi. I just wanted to report that microsoft edge freeze everything after something of using it (I'm not sure what causes this and I also tested other browser and have not issues at all). I literally have to restart the PC. I'm using linux mint 20, I have 6 GB of RAM.

I use install Arch Linux with duel booted Linux Mint 18.1 .In my college we have lubuntu 16.04 and Ubuntu 14.04 installed. I have also enabled testing repos in arch Linux so I get newer packages, thus due to this when I compile any C++ program on Arch it won't run on Linux Mint due to version of shared libraries don't match in mint.

If you have some cutting-edge hardware and you cannot boot the regular Linux Mint ISO, you can download the Edge variant here now. Unfortunately, the Edge version is only offered with the Cinnamon desktop environment -- Mate and Xfce ISOs are not available.

Have tried several windows and linux apps to create the bootable mem stick, no help

Have downloaded the Mint OS several times and verified the downloads

Have disabled the bios fast boot and secure boot, and UEFI is enabled by default

You may not be able to use your Logitech DiNovo edge keyboard correctly under Isadora due to the bluetooth application not picking up the device correctly. This is an easy fix. Firstly if you have one you need to plug in a standard keyboard.

Here's how you can stop Linux Mint 12 from automatically maximizing windows when you drag a window to the top of the screen. 1. Launch the Configuration Editor (gconf-editor). 2. Go to desktop/gnome/shell/windows. 3. Uncheck "edge_tiling." This will also stop window snapping when you drag windows to the left and right edge in Linux Mint 12.

This was pulled from the inf driver download.

The WiFi card is enabled in Bios, and was working with windows 10.

There is no Ethernet cable port on the laptop.

The linux Kernel is 14.5.

Some forum posts online showed issues with an older kernel back in 2016 with a broadcom driver.

@ryan10x, That chispet does not have mainline support. You will need to build this from scratch. The only way to get this to work possibly out of the box would be to use a bleeding edge distro and even then, they may not package that driver.

Certain setting can be hidden in weird places or described in a funny way. One of the annoying things that is there is the "auto window maximization" when window title bar touches the top screen edge. This is quite annoying when you are trying to set multiple windows on your screen or just trying to move the window somewhere else.

Settings >> "Window manager tweaks" >> Accessibility Tab -- here un-check the option "Automatically tile windows when moving towards the screen edge"

The foundation on which Linux Mint is built is Ubuntu. Ubuntu, created by Canonical, offers both a Long Term Support release and multiple intermediate short-term but more up-to-date/bleeding edge releases. Canonical, the provider of Ubuntu, releases a new version of Ubuntu every six months, in which the latest and best applications and newest functionality are always made available. For these 6-month releases, you get only up to 9 months of support and security updates.

when you touch the "close" button, it will start to reload the repos inmediately. If an error window pops up about not finding a GPG Key, just ignore and close it, as some debian packages (sid-unstable) there, are in the bleeding edge, and some are very likely to not being authenticated too. e24fc04721
