Thanks for reaching out to us here in order to find out what solutions there are to your device's problem of having issues with Facebook apps opening links that are sent to your secondary messenger account while they are open in the main Facebook account and not the secondary Facebook account as they should be.

For reasons unknown, dual messenger support is not extended to apps that natively support multiple accounts. It would have been nice, as launching a new instance of the app is a lot easier than switching accounts in-app. Some of the apps that work with Dual Messenger include Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Snapchat, with support for additional apps coming soon. The Dual Messenger option is hidden deep within the settings. Here's how you enable it.

If you have one of the Galaxy J7 (2017) smartphones (including the India-exclusive Galaxy J7 Max), you can find Dual Messenger in the Settings  Advanced features menu, where enabling the feature for each app can be done with a single app. Once enabled, you will see two icons for the app in the app drawer, with a small icon of a linked chain indicating which of the two is the second app. Since the phone treats the two instances as individual apps, you can even use them at the same time in Multi Window mode.

The experience of using two Facebook accounts through two apps is not as seamless as what the Twitter users get when they use two Twitter accounts from within one app, but it also avoids some of the confusion that single app-multiple accounts may create. In fact, it might be even preferable to single app-multiple accounts methods. But we digress, so let's talk of the way to solve the dual Facebook account problem:

We live in a digital age where we can have two different personas. Our digital lives have become very much a part of our identity. Our second identity, if you could call it that. We have our Watsapp accounts, Facebook accounts, Skype, Telegram and so much more. Some of us would like to have a split between personal and work when it comes to some of these applications and how we use our mobile devices. The old way of achieving this split on mobile was to perhaps incur the expense and physical hassle of having two devices. One for personal use and another for work. However, Samsung devices have long pioneered the practicality of using one device for both work and play, with solutions such as My Knox (now called Secure folder) that allow for partitioning of the device environment to achieve said split, and now more recently, with the Dual messenger feature.

Dual messenger lets you have two personas for some of your favorite social media and messaging applications such as Watsapp, Facebook & Facebook messenger, Skype, Telegram and more. With the dual messenger feature you can create a second copy of such applications on your device. For those operating two accounts on such apps, it allows one to easily and quickly access their two accounts on the same device. Have a Facebook account for personal use and another for work or business? Why not use Dual messenger to create a second instance/copy of the Facebook application, specifically to log in to your work or business Facebook account, leaving the first version of the Facebook app for your personal/social account.

The usability of dual messenger extends further with dual sim variants of Samsung devices. For instance you can create a copy of the Watsapp application on your device and tie your second phone number to the second instance/copy of the application. Again, this can be beneficial in achieving a split between work related Watsapp communication/groups (now common in most organizations) and your personal Watsapp communication/groups. With particular emphasis on Watsapp, the feature combined with dual sim capability can help users reduce cases of accidental social postings to more formal groups as they can more consciously isolate formal Watsapp communications to a second app and line.

Dual Messenger is an exclusive feature for dual-SIM Galaxy models that lets you clone certain social apps to use two different accounts at the same time. It's a great option if you have separate accounts for work, school, family, and your public persona. And it's perfect for apps that require an on-device phone number to run, like WhatsApp, since dual-SIM devices can have two numbers.

It seems Samsung utilizes a separate user profile mechanism for dual messenger apps. To access these apps, we can gather the app list from all user profiles, filtering out the ones we already have. This will leave us with the dual messenger apps that we can then launch using the LauncherApps service.

Samsung Galaxy often get several nifty features, which are unavailable for most Android phones. For instance, the Dual Messenger lets you run two instances of same messenger app so that you can use two different accounts.

The most recent release of the Facebook iOS app works on IPv6-only networks. The interesting thing in making this all work, is the example Reachability code that apple released really only showed how to implement it for IPv4 or hostnames, but using a hostname was broken if you were on an IPv4 only network and the hostname was dual stacked. Anyway, the main app is now fixed and our Messenger application will be updated soon to also have the fix.

This guide shows you how to use Galaxy S9 dual messenger to enable two accounts of messenger apps on Galaxy S9 and S9+. It also shows you how to disable individual messenger apps on Galaxy S9 dual messenger.

If you have a single SIM version of Galaxy S9 or S9+, you can still use two accounts. Some messenger apps, like WhatsApp, need to verify the phone number. But it is only required for the initial setup. You can set up up two accounts one by one by switching SIM cards or using the code sent to other phones.

As mentioned, after using dual messenger for WhatsApp (or other apps), you will have two copies of the same app in Galaxy S9 apps screen. One of them will have a unique icon decoration (orange sticker). You can add both of them to the Home screen.

It is for the purpose of separating your work life from your personal life the reason why Samsung added a new and innovative feature called Dual Messenger.

This feature enables you to install two separate versions of the same messaging app on your device. That means that through the use of this feature, you will be able to login to both accounts and of course, use each app version concurrently in a normal manner. Consequently, here is how to use dual account for WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger on Samsung Galaxy S9 and Note 9.

Once you tap on the Dual Messenger option, you will see a list of messenger apps that are compatible with this function displayed. This is an important point that you should note. That not all messenger apps are supported with this newly introduced Samsung S9 and Note 9 feature. Moreover, the list of apps displayed is determined by Samsung and not developers of apps.

Next to each messenger app supported, there is a toggle which you are supposed to turn on for the purpose of having two separate versions of the app added to your device. In our case, at a time, choose WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger apps which we need to use their separate accounts on a single device.

4. There is an option for contact selection. This option allows you to select the particular contacts for your second WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger apps by turning on the contact selection. If you prefer to continue using the same contacts for both your main and secondary messenger apps then you are simply required to turn off the contact selection.

Everything sort of went well, but there is an option that is apparently blocked form use.

This is called "dual messenger" which means, if supported by the app you can run multiple instances of it.

Could you please try to manually set it? We can refer to the following link:
