Open Device Manager and find the category you need from the list (this could be under something like "Internet" or "LAN"). Right-click on the list item for your ethernet and select Update Driver from the drop-down menu. If Windows is unable to find a driver update, check the ethernet card manufacturer's website to see if they have a new driver you can manually download.

I recently needed an Ethernet adapter for my laptop, which has USB and WiFi (of course) but no Ethernet. Somebody offered me an Apple USB-to-Ethernet adapter. I figured Windows would offer the driver automatically, after which I could use the computer in places where only wired networks were available.

I did a little more hunting online and found this link to a blog that said they'd found the driver for the chipset in the adapter, and convinced it to work. I followed a variant on their instructions, and it worked for me too. Here are the steps I used:

It should find a RedHat network adapter driver, follow the prompts and you're in business.

** I never bothered to locate the actual subfolder of the driver on the virtio-win-1-1 image, I just let windows do it for me. **

I can't update this driver because it can't connect to the internet, and how to get it and from where - I have no idea. I also tried to search for it in VMware-tools-windows-11.3.0-18090558.iso disk - it doesn't find them there too.

The e1000 and e1000e have drivers built in to the Windows operating system and does not require VMware Tools installed. AFAIK, Windows 10 does not include the VMware vmxnet3 adapter driver; althoughl lately there has been VMware driver updates delivered through Windows Update (such as the SVGA 3D adapter driver).

I turned off the automatic startup for Hamachi, but when I turned my computer on yesterday I didn't have wifi at all. I checked my network adapters, nothing but Hamachi / Ethernet. My other computers in the house were working fine. So I tried to turn on Hamachi to see if it would help, tried resetting, nothing. Next I uninstalled it, restarted, still no wifi. Now my computer only had an ethernet adapter and no hamachi adapter. I did some more digging and went into my devices, it didn't show up there either until I found out it was hidden. Clicked properties, and got error 45 : "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)" ??????

Finally I decided to just uninstall the drivers through the device manager, and reinstall them...but it never showed up again since then. It's completely gone, not detected, not hidden anymore, completely vanished. Luckily I don't have a huge amount of things I needed to pull off my laptop, so I've got everything except my work program on an external drive, and plan to reformat in the next few days once I transfer that to my work computer. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this until then though I'm all ears...I've had nothing but trouble from this program, even when I used to use it years ago...this is the worst computer problem I've ever had though, praying it didn't completely fry my adapter somehow and everything just fixes itself on a full restore..

I then tested a USB to Ethernet adapter, and it was able to work.

So I narrowed the issue down to the onboard Ethernet driver.

Driver was up to date, so I did the typical uninstall/reinstall, Did not work.

However I knew my Windows 10 machines worked flawlessly.

I am using a Dell WD19s docking station. After reading this I tried updating to a newer driver version 8/23/2022 1153.9.823.2022 and it does not work. In Device Manager I Uninstalled the device and deleted the driver. Then refreshed devices and windows installed a driver version 4/19/2022 10.52.418.2022. The VPN will now connect.

Windows 11 with the last Realtek Gaming 2.5 Gbpe Ethernet Devices driver is having the problem only with VPN IPSEC, that is working only with vpnssl. Installing the lastest driver for windows 10 fix the problem with IPSEC.

Thanks! But I'm using current latest Forticlient VPN version 7.0.8.0427... any ideas where to get the installer for VPN version 7.0.2? I cannot find anywhere... :( so the only workaround for me is to keep using previous realtek drivers from HP drivers download page (not windows update latest version).

Once the setup ended I have logged in to the administrative account, however a message will state that no network adapter was found. Should I slipstream the driver somehow running setup again or could I try other ways to add the missing driver?

Although I have the drivers on a driver CD that came with the adapter I wanted to go ahead and look for a more up-to-date driver. I first had a look on the StarTech website for the drivers which told me a) the original chipset manufacturer (Realtek) and b) the chipset model (RTL8153). Armed with this information I then had a look on the Realtek website an immediately found a more up to date driver (10.13 vs 10.10). As I explained in my previous post, you almost always find the latest drivers from the original chipset manufacturer.

Good evening. I just purchased this laptop from work as they have all upgraded to tablets. I went and reinstalled windows via the recovery usb method obtained from this site. Everything went well except I now have no network adapter at all. I cant connect to wifi nor ethernet. I've already downloaded and tried to install the network drivers listed on the site via usb stick. It still does not show. Anyone have any ideas?

Here you can download drivers for DisplayLink USB graphics chipsets incorporated in your dock, adapter or monitor. We recommend to update to the latest driver to address any potential security issue, fix bugs, improve performance and add new features.

My pc does recognize my iPhone and the USBethernet but I seem to lack a driver. I have tried multiple attempts from other post including where you find the driver manually on your pc via this path: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\netdrivers.

If you take a deep look into windows device manager, you will see there's a device not recognized with no driver installed with a name that can differ with each case. It will usually say something like Apple USB Ethernet.

Our PTP adapters use the standard Linux drivers (either installed via a driver RPM or part of an Onload installation). The Enhanced PTP Daemon (sfptpd) takes full advantage of all the PTP hardware features available on our PTP adapters.

These pages contain OEM-validated drivers and software for adapters that are purchased from Dell and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. For the latest Solarflare drivers and software please select Drivers and Software.

The Linux diagnostics (sfreport) is a script that can be used to generate an HTML report which contains information on the system, drivers and adapter which is useful to Solarflare support and engineering teams. 2351a5e196
