I just bought this set it up, installed the drivers computer communicates with the printer when i send something to print . the printer feeds the paper in then process it out when it comes out it just a blank piece of paper. yes the toner is installed. there no warning lights on just wont print anything on the paper after it runs thru the printer.

If you just setup the printer and the prints are blank, I would suggest removing the toner and checking to make sure all the packing material has been removed from the toner cartridge. We would be happy to assist further with the issue. To provide some feedback or some troubleshooting steps, we would need some additional information. If you could reply to this message with the information below, we can provide some assistance.

Looks like after the recent upgrade to 13.1, MF3010 no longer works on Mac. The printer's symbol seems to be stuck in 'processing / printing'. The Printer window on Mac shows 'ready to print' but nothing happens. Tried rebooting laptop / printer & reinstalling drivers, but it still does not seem to work.

Sort of a weird bug, but eventually got sorted out. For some weird reason, wait 24 hours, then do a restart before unpugging the printer and plug back after the restart and the printer starts to work. I'm in IT and I can't explain why this works

Yesterday I upgraded from Snow Leopard to Lion. All went well but now my printer doesn't function. I think that's because the printer driver that was compatible with Snow Leopard is not compatible with Lion. So...do you know how to solve my problem? Is there a way to solve it even without the official Canon drivers? Is there anyone else who has the same printer as mine and can help me to find a solution?

Try reselecting your printer. Open System Preferences, click on Print & Fax, click on your printer in the Printer List and then the 'minus' sign to remove it. Then click the + sign and add it back in again. See if that helps. Also, try shutting down and disconnecting the printer from the Mac, then reconnect it and power it on and see if you are prompted with new drivers. Hope that helps.

The LBP3010 uses the Canon proprietary CAPT driver. There will be a new version of this driver being released, v3.36, to support Lion. However the service information from Canon does not list this model as being supported by the new driver. So if the steps suggested by Philip does not help then you should contact your local Canon support and see if they can confirm the availability of a driver to support OS X 10.7.

I've already tried to remove the printer from the printer list but I've not been able to re-add it! In fact the instructions of the driver tell me to open "Printer Utility" (or something like that) from Applications>Utilities, but in Lion there isn't. I've tried to add the printer from the system prefs but I can't find the button "more printers" that, according to the driver instructions, I have to clic after hitting the "+" button.

As you have mentioned, to add this printer via USB you need to click the More Printers button and then select "Canon CAPT (USB)". With Snow Leopard, the More Printers would take quite a while to appear, and would only appear after installing the CAPT driver.

So if you upgraded to 10.7 from 10.6, then the 10.6 CAPT driver may have an issue. You could try running the 10.6 CAPT driver installer again on 10.7 to see if that gets the More Printers button to appear again. But without actually knowing the answer I think that to get the More Printers button back you may need a Lion compatible driver.

I think that the 10.6 CAPT driver is not compatible because even after reinstalling it, the "more printers" button doesn't appear! However, where did you gather the infos about the new driver? I can't find any info about Lion compatibility on the Canon website!

I'm having the same issue with my Canon LPB 3100. I tried reinstalling the CAPT driver and still cannot print or reinstall the driver. I found some info about this here: -au/Support-Services/Support-News/Lion-Support#lfp

Sure! But I think that the only way to make it work is downloading the updated driver (if Canon releases it....and I hope so)!! Naturally, let me know if you have any news about the problem in the future!

Another thing: I think that we should all send an email to Canon about the problem we are experiencing, so that they release the new driver as soon as possible! I've already sent my message through the Canon Support webpage (I cannot paste the link because it's different for each region)!

The problem is that Canon offers poor support, they update the drivers very slow, for example when i've updated my OS to 10.6.7, i could not print with my LBP3100 about two weeks, then Canon finally released CAPT Printer Driver Ver.3.31.

I just bout a new Windows 11 laptop 2 months ago for school. I just bought a Canon Imageclass MF3010 laser printer with built-in scanner last night for new school projects. I can print fine, but the scanner doesn't function at all. I installed the toolbox from the Canon website, but it tells me a supported scanner is not installed. Please insert a supported scanner, and then restart Toolbox.

I downloaded the drivers directly from the Canon website because this laptop doesn't have a CD drive. Since they didn't work, I did also try to update the drivers through Windows. It took a bit at first to get the printer to recognize, but that part functions. Now how do I get the scanner to work?

The issue you are describing point to a problem with the scanner driver installing on the computer properly. In this situation, you can try reinstalling the drivers from our website using the link HERE while any security software is disabled.

If the scan utility still tells you that a supported scanner is not installed, I would suggest contacting support at 1-800-652-2666. Our agents can check what might be preventing the drivers from installing on your computer.

I have been able to use MF3010 fine with my previous macbook pro, but not with my latest macbook pro 14 on OS Ventura 13.0.1. I have downloaded and installed the printer and scanner driver (the version that is compatible to macOS 10.12.6 - macOS 13.0.1) successfully from Canon, but it seems my laptop is still not able to communicate with the printer while printing.

In the Macbook system setting, macbook is able to see this printer is connected via USB, and I am able to scan document successfully with the MF toolbox. But when it comes to printing, the job always stucks at "ready to print" or "sending data to printer", and the printer light shows it is printing but not actually doing anything.

Fwiw, I have also tried the same driver on another macbook pro 13 with OS Monterey 12.6.1 and I am able to use the printer. Somehow it seems this is a Ventura specific compatible issue or maybe Macbook pro 14 compatible issue?

Update:

I did not use my printer / computer for a week or so, and tried again yesterday. Surprisingly my printer is now able to work on my macbook with Ventura 13.0.1. I am pretty sure I did not upgrade my system or changed anything my laptop, but somehow it started to work. This brought back my memory that the printer was not able to work when the first time I installed the driver on my previous macbook, but somehow it started to work on the day after. I am not sure whether there is anything that requires some time to run before the printer is able to communicate with my macbooks properly, but it does seem that way to me. All good now.

Specifically, I am using 64-bit Lubuntu 13.10 and a Canon MF-3010. It was great to find out that Canon has an officially-released driver for its proprietary UFR II protocol. At the time of this writing, the driver version is 2.70.

After a great deal of troubleshooting, I determined the issue: the 64-bit packages released by Canon depend on various 32-bit libraries, but those required libraries are not explicitly listed anywhere that I could find. Eventually I would hit on forum threads where the advice was to apt-get install ia32-libs, a catch-all package with a bunch of useful 32-bit libraries for 64-bit Ubuntu. It was deprecated in Ubuntu 13.10, and is no longer available from the normal package repositories.

With some more digging, and some trial and error, I was able to get what appears to be the minimal set of 32-bit libraries that must be installed for the printer to print. After downloading the Linux_UFRII_PrinterDriver_V270_*.tar.gz and extracting it into a directory, this sequence of commands should get the printer up and running:

The 3-in-1 Wireless MAXIFY GX3010 (print, copy, and scan) expands the Canon MegaTank Printer lineup at an increasingly affordable cost. This printer utilize a continuous ink supply system, which can significantly reduce ink costs by utilizing high-volume ink bottles.

1. Claim is based on page yield of 6,000 Black/14,000 Color pages per ink bottle set and MSRP (USD) of $126.96 for full set of GI-26 ink bottles (1 bottle each of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) as of April 2022. Page yield of color inks is an average yield of cyan, magenta and yellow inks combined. Page yield of included ink bottles used for initial setup is lower than the replacement ink bottles, as a certain amount of ink is consumed to fill into the print head during setup (charging the print head initially). Actual page yield and cost per print will vary significantly based on content printed, ink levels maintained in all four ink reservoirs, and other factors. Page yield is the estimated value based on Canon individual testing method using ISO/IEC 24712 test chart and continuous printing simulation with full set of replacement ink bottles after initial setup. 152ee80cbc
