hardware information gives me res 1920108060 whle in system inf stands 19201080120.

all those nomodeset, modeprobe, x11, xorg got me so confused that i actually dont understand what suse uses as default before installing graphic driver, what uses after installing g-driver.

Note too that with the NVidia drivers fully uninstalled, there are two ostensibly competent FOSS DDX drivers available, nouveau, the older, and modesetting, the newer technology, most easily utilized very simply by uninstalling xf86-video-nouveau.

Afaik, since version 2004 compatibility problems are just showing everywhere on some devices. Because of that I'm still intentionally stuck my laptop on 1909. I don't bother to update it just to see possible bugging on my daily driver. Heck, it works fine for me anyway.

When installing a proprietary graphics driver, it is not necessary to uninstall the built-in open source graphics driver. The two graphics drivers can be installed alongside each other allowing the open source graphics driver to be used as a fallback alternative in case there is a problem using the proprietary graphics driver.

The sudo ubuntu-drivers install command installs drivers that are appropriate for automatic installation including their dependencies, and the Nvidia driver will also be updated automatically when an update is available.

I have a GTX 1050 ti that I'm trying to install drivers for on Windows 7 64, however all drivers from 2019 onward require SHA-2 windows updates. I realize the logical solution would be to simply manually install the SHA-2 updates, but I can't because my Windows Update won't work due to a missing Services Plug-In. It's really a long story, but trust me when I say that damage is irreversible.

The only chance I have to get this 1050 ti operational is to locate some legacy drivers prior to the SHA-2 update requirement. That means 2016-2018. I've been to hell and back on the internet trying to locate some, but no dice. If anyone has some, or knows where I can find them, I would greatly appreciate it.

One interesting observation imho is that when you switch from EC to mPCIe you have to reinstall the driver through your device manager. As i switched back to EC, first boot got stuck (as always when conecting a new card/switching port) but from that moment on the driver was still working for EC. So what I can now deduct, drivers are port specific. Now i can use my gtx on both ports.

1- Hacking the old driver to support 1050 Ti as GynTh0r suggested, didn't worked out for me, maybe because of the line "Insert this %NVIDIA_DEV.1C82% = Section062, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1C82 (1C82 is the Device ID of the GTX 1050 Ti find yours here )

my section was 033 in a windows 8.1 64 bit. But i still added the new line as section 062.(there were no section 62's at all on my downloaded driver, (there were 31, 137, 33 etc. and 33 was correct i think because it was the last before [destination dirs] category) (That may be suspect #1 for not working) after updating to new driver and without clean install, error 43 was still there.

2- Then i checked to see wheter if hot plugging is enabled on my pcie connections; hwinfo64 showed that they are disabled, so i decided to flash my bios to enable it, ami bios; was dumped then edited via amibcp software. i both enabled hotplug of all pcie ports and set their access to USER to see them in startup bios. while flashing it gave me an error that secure flash was not started, because of sertifiacete check, so I bypassed it by using the /GAN function,(some people claims that adding /GAN to the flash leaves some areas of bios unchanged, and here is the #2 suspect for failure on my side.) Other than that the flash worked fine, until i restart pc, load defaults and restart again.I can't see my new settings added to the bios screen. In the windows, hwinfo64 still show those ports as hot plug disabled, but when i dump another copy of my current bios with AFUwin or bios backup toolkit, the new bios has those settings enabled?!

Then i proceed to remove the old drivers via ddu, then restart computer, plug the card in, then black screen shows up and i can't enter the bios.

3-I permanently enabled the ATX power via the switch on exp gdc, and then restart pc, then when it enters the bios, it was duplicated on both laptop and external tv. So at this point i immediately installed the driver 375.63, but no, there was still error 43. and working internal screen(intel graphics) and a blank black screen on the tv(not "no signal" though)

At this point, the fans are running, Error goes away when i disable and re enable 1050ti but without external tv and gpu-z shows the exact same clock speed with my dgpu at 1050ti, and when i disable only the dgpu, it shows nothing on both egpu and d. Nvidia control panel doesn't open because it says not monitors plugged in to an nvidia card.

P.S.2. i'm in a country that selling 1050ti and getting like a 970 would be a bit hard, and push me 2-3 months back in order the save money for it. So that is my last resort, and would do any software trick to prevent it.

The first modded driver didn't switched to the egpu display, but the next one(non-modded 385.41) did! After a fresh restart the card works like a charm

[img] [/img]The fastest way to test the card for me was going to rocket league, it is around 115 fps, i'll do more detailed tests in the following days...

@onion78 my first guess would be that something is trying to "update" that files of yours, so that it is clashing with the "hot plug enabled" nv_dispi. if it is a win10 try disabling auto update drivers etc.

I recently have been having issues opening Enscape. Everything should be up to date- but every time I start Enscape it hangs on 5% and does not respond. I've tried opening it on Rhino and it does the same, then crashes. This morning, when I tried opening Enscape in Revit, an error popped up saying I needed to install the latest graphics card driver.

I use Sketchup Pro 2019 and have Enscape 2.7.0 with it. My graphic card is Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 Ti (4GB). Everytime I turn on Enscape in Sketchup, I get this notification (picture attached below) that my graphic driver is too old for Enscape even though it runs smoothly on my laptop.

Hey anamkhan ! There would of course be no negative effects towards your graphics card at all (it's just a visual hint), you can simply make sure, that your graphics card drivers are actually fully up to date.

Guys I just fixed it thanks to @rachid596 In my case I've got two 1050ti and was never able to pass my primary because unraid OS was using it during boot. You have to add "video=efifb:off" to the flash drive. That prevents the primary video card from being used at all (even if you isolate it in vfio)

I've recently (Jan 2021) updated my platform from an lga1155 to a AM4 system, and I'm running into display driver/dwm crashes which freeze what's on the screen but keep the PC running.

I can hear videos/games/chat continue, and I can manipulate them. I just can't see anything.

To gain full control back I have to turn it off with the PSU switch as just smothering the power button causes it to crash at the windows loading icon, the little pale blue one, but the system continues to boot to desktop behind a frozen screen.

I cannot figure this out. I've rolled back drivers, uninstalled all I can and reinstalled them. Tried 3 different (current, last and a few versions back) Nvidia drivers using DDU each time.

I've run sfc/scannow and a few other commands to wipe and repair Windows update and check that all the Windows files are fine, they all report that everything is fine, or that they corrected something and when run a second or third time come up clean.

I've booted to safe mode a few times, not spent much longer than a few minutes there so I can't really tell if it happens in that environment.

I've rebuilt my W10 install USB stick with an updated version from the Windows support page and run Windows start up repair.

I've tested the RAM, using windows memory tester and also using 1 stick, 2 sticks in each socket

I've reseated the CPU, and also replaced the CPU with a new one

I've reseated the GPU a few times as it's a recently new build and I had to go back to my old one for a few days during a return window(old pc runs fine, no issues)

I've reseated all cables at both ends

I've remounted the motherboard to make sure nothing was touching underneath

Basically I've taken it all apart twice and put it back together.

I've use the DP to HDMI cables between 2 machines no issues

All hard drives have been used across both machines, no issues

Try update Windows and your graphic card driver.

You may open start and search for feedback and open the Feedback Hub app and report this issue.

You may contact your device's manufacturer support and report this issue.

Hi,

It's amazing so many fixes and tests you've done. According to the description, I still consider it may a compatibility error between Win 10 and video card drivers.

Especially without this problem before the update. If you have updated the graphics driver and system version to the latest and still have this problem, I think you can try to install a previous version of Windows, such as Win101909, or try an older version of the driver to check.

Before this, maybe few settings you could check firstly.

1.Disable every visual effect in performance options.

 -disable-system-visual-effects-boost-performance-windows-10

2.Adjust for high performance in power management and disable sleep mode.

These setting are located on Control Panel >Power Options

3.Turn off GPU graphics card acceleration in the graphics card management software.

Hope this helps and please help to accept as Answer if the response is useful.

Best Regards,
