This is the first time Abhay Deol has sung for a film, though both Farhan Akhtar and Hrithik Roshan made their singing debuts for Rock On!! and Kites respectively. They recorded a good part of the song by tricking the actors into believing that it is a rehearsal and used it since it sounded good.[5]

Rediff in its music review, stated, "Seorita treads on cultural stereotypes with its flamenco-inspired beats, ethnic elements and lyricism represented by Mara Del Mar Fernndez yet keeps it interesting by adding its own twist to the take."[9] Meanwhile, Bollywood Hungama described the track as "A fun number with some impressive singing with Hrithik, Farhan and Abhay".[10] Bollyspice reviewer Vanessa Barnes, who loved the song, said, "This is a thoroughly Spanish track, from the guitars, the handclapping, the exuberance and the passion. It made me long to go back to Barcelona, because I can TASTE it."[11]

The album received universal critical acclaim. Joginder Tuteja of Bollywood Hungama gave the album a positive review saying, "One of the best soundtracks of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Javed Akhtar in recent times, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is a classy act that delivers just what it promised."[10] Sukanya Verma of Rediff gave the album 3.5 stars out of five stars saying, "At a time when ostentatious is passed off as grand, it's refreshing to come across Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara's unaffected and chilled-out collection of melodies.".[11] PlanetRadiocity, in their 3.5 star review, said, "Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy are usually consistent in the quality department and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is no exception. In these months of loud, gaudy and cheesy Bollywood nautanki songs, this one stands apart with its good manners and understated class."[12]

The IANS review too was positive, which stated "When it's Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, the expectations from the music score are usually high and like always, the trio has managed to fulfill what was required out of them in the upcoming film 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'."[14] Fever 104 FM, on the other hand, remarked, "The soundtrack of ZMND brings alive and back the old and quintessentially rocking S-E-L in the most promising way."[13] BBC praised the album, calling it "a reflective and meaningful collection of songs that should stand the test of time."[15]

After the festival, the protagonists of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara head to Sevilla in a fun road trip. In the Andalusian capital they try skydiving, enjoy a flamenco show and here is where one of the best known songs of the film takes place: Seorita.
