Just after World War II, there was a renewed interest in beam weapons. Copies of Tesla's papers on particle beam weaponry were sent to Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. An operation code-named "Project Nick" was heavily funded and placed under the command of Brigadier General L. C. Craigie to test the feasibility of Tesla's concept. Details of the experiments were never published, and the project was apparently discontinued. But something peculiar happened. The copies of Tesla's papers disappeared, and no one knows what happened to them.

He appeared in an April 2008 episode of the Karma Air show Fashion 411 with Barbra Horowitz to share some of the behind the scenes experiences on Project Runway, as well as the events and projects with which he was then involved.

I first encountered Nick Harris of Watches By Nick on Instagram (@watches_by_nick), where he was posting pics of the modified Seikos he sells on his site. He sent me The Traveler, a Seiko 5 modded with a magnifying crystal and military dial that was making its way around the Instagram watch nerd community. I encountered him again this past April at the Philadelphia Watch Get Together, and he told me about Project Orion. This was no mod project but an all new watch that he designed himself. Needless to say, I had to get my hands on one. He lent me a prototype for this review.

In the face of recent heart-wrenching acts of targeted violence, ongoing attempts by legislatures to undermine queer rights, and the continued dehumanization endured by transgender folx, the pursuit of this project becomes even more essential. It stands as a resolute testament to the strength and unity of our community, boldly asserting that our existence will not be diminished or silenced. Through the creation and promotion of queer music and art, we unleash the powerful resonance of our voices, aiming to ignite profound and lasting change within society. By showcasing the vibrant tapestry of queer artistic expressions, we transcend barriers and defy attempts to marginalize us. We firmly believe in the extraordinary capacity of art, in all its boundless forms, to challenge societal norms, evoke empathy, and stimulate meaningful conversations that bring about transformative shifts. By advocating for the recognition and appreciation of queer culture, we strive to foster a world where acceptance, equality, and understanding prevail.

On October 14th, The Nick Project will be hosting its second annual Evening of Arsenault event. This fundraiser generates support for the Wilderness First Aid Program by the Stoney Education Authority, the music bursary, and other smaller projects throughout the year. Last year's event raised over $20,000, which enabled the Project to contribute to initiatives such as Spirit North and fund new projects for the following year.

This year, The Nick Project will have a simultaneous event in Moncton, NB, Nick's hometown. Both events will be live-streamed together. The Canmore event will take place at Creekside Villa and feature a live silent auction, guest speakers from current projects, interactive donor activity stations, and delicious refreshments.

This year, the non-profit is excited to be involved in a pilot project for high school students, in collaboration with the Stoney Education Authority. Transitioning from high school can be challenging, particularly in rural communities where career opportunities may be limited. To ensure the students' success, the Stoney Education Authority will be piloting a wilderness first aid course for up to 10 students. This course will not only equip them with valuable skills but will also count towards their high school credits.

To learn more about these and upcoming projects, or to donate or contribute to the Evening of Arsenault events, email [email protected]. Monetary donations can be made through the website. Stay updated by visiting The Nick Project online, on Facebook, or Instagram.
