Android phones are very customizable, but you can always go slightly further by diving into the developer options. This hidden menu of goodies isn't for everyone, and it's the place where you can turn on USB debugging and unlock your bootloader for rooting your Android phone. But it's also where you can tweak options to an insane degree. Ever wanted your animation draw speed slightly faster? Here's where you can do it. You'll need to unlock this mode before you can do anything, but don't worry; it's very easy to do. Here's how to get developer options on Android.

Be aware before we start: Developer options are hidden for a reason. The entire menu has been designed for use by developers who want to test functionalities and make changes that may impact your phone in one way or another. It may improve your performance, but it may also have the opposite effect. It's not a good idea to go in and change things without an understanding of each option and a reason for doing so. So make sure you've done your homework before you start.

Step 3: Tap Build number seven times. After the first few taps, you should see the steps counting down until you unlock the developer options. You may also have to tap in your PIN for verification.

Choosing the best phone in 2023 can be quite challenging, as there are so many excellent options available. Whether you are an iPhone fan, an Android user, or open to any smartphone, finding the perfect one for you may seem like a daunting task. But don't worry, we're here to help!

Hi, I'm really hoping someone can help me.After updating my iPhone 11 to iOS 16 and tried to launch an app from xCode on it, I noticed that I didn't have dev mode enabled. When I went to Settings > Privacy & Security to toggle the Developer Mode on, it wasn't there. There is no Developer Mode option in my settings, the only option and the end of Privacy & Security is Lockdown Mode.

I tried so many troubleshooting techniques and spent a lot of time looking for solutions. I tried powering on and off while connected to my macbook with xcode running and again without xcode running. Made sure my device has the latest update (iOS 16.0.2) and my device has trusted the connection to the Macbook as well. I also had the same problem on my girlfriends brand new iPhone 13, I was really hoping it was just my device but no, her device doesn't have the Dev Mode option either. Out of curiosity I asked my friends at work if they had the option but they did not. I even went as far as going into an Apple store and checking the devices on display and they didn't have the option either. And when I asked the staff their, they didn't know why the option wasn't showing up on mine or even their own personal devices.

The only source that I have found with the same issue as me is this youtube link ( =5AEusqQV794), where it mentions that this is an issue with iOS 16 public beta users and not developer beta user and the only way to solve this is by sidloading the app which I am not gonna do. Please note that I am not running beta version on my device.

Hey, my developer mode option has just appeared today. I didn't do anything different since my last post as Apple Support had no idea why I couldn't see the option and they said they will get back to me but I heard nothing back yet. It was strange and frustrating to see the option just appear like that after so much time and effort to solve this issue ha. All I did was the steps Claude31 has mentioned above (which I have done many of times) and it just worked today. Anyway just wanted to let you know that I now have developer mode option up and running on my device. I have heard there are a lot of bugs with the iOS 16 so I guess we can just add this to the list of rare bugs.

I was able to fix this issue after enabling developer mode in iPhone settings and restarting the phone.THEN I connected it to my MacBook with both Apple Configurator, and Xcode opened. Pretty sure opening Xcode helped, as Dev Mode just appeared in settings without having to relaunch the settings.

I have found a video on YouTube and worked for me.The way you enable it is the same as you'd do in a real device. Go to: Settings -> System -> About emulated device -> Build number click that as many times as it takes to turn on developer mode, and that's it!

Perhaps the On-Device Developer Options are handled in other ways by the Android emulator. For example, there are the Extended controls, settings, and help. There are also the command-line options you can pass to the Android emulator.

Some options may simply be unavailable on an Android Emulator, such as Try out WebView Beta. Each limitation such as this one may or may not workaround. A possible workaround for updating the WebView on the Android Emulator is Update Android System WebView on SDK Emulator.

To enable 'develper options' in real phone or emulator, we may refer to the official document. -options.I did it on Pixel 2 API28 emulator following instrucions explained in the link and it worked.Have a good one!

However, if you're writing software with Visual Studio on a computer for the first time, you will need to enable Developer Mode on both the development PC and on any devices you'll use to test your code. Opening a UWP project when Developer Mode isn't enabled will either open the For developers settings page, or cause the following dialog to appear in Visual Studio:

Developer Mode replaces the Windows 8.1 requirements for a developer license. In addition to sideloading, the Developer Mode setting enables debugging and additional deployment options. This includes starting an SSH service to allow deployment to this device. In order to stop this service, you need to disable Developer Mode.

I dropped off my phone for a screen repair and enabled the new maintenance mode before I left it. The techs contacted me saying that they aren't able to start any repairs at all as they're not able to access the developer options and still said they need my PIN in order to start and finish the repairs. This has me very frustrated, what's the point of the mode if they're going to immediately need it disabled? And is that even a thing, do they have to have developer options enabled? I dropped it off at an Asurion site, so it's Samsung approved and everything...

That's a fine option, but that's also the point of Maintenance Mode. It create a secondary temporary account so none other action is needed, but it prevents access to Developer Options. So it seems like a solution... but it doesn't really solve anything. Just delay my repair and the techs still need the PIN.

Hindsight now though, for sure I'd just go through and log out of everything before turning over. Not ideal... but better than nothing.

Basically you need to login to the Oculus website and search for developer. Then open a dev account with any made-up company name. I believe you now also need to supply a CC so if you do not have one, you are kinda out of luck. Then you need to use your phone app with your Q2 connected to it and go to the settings and enable Dev mode. After you restart your Q2 you should see a settings all/developer tab.

Actually i am using my account with app sharing and the primary account can only access to device using mobile and can enable developer mode but with secondary account(my account) can't access to device and cannot enable developer mode, if i have to access other features like sidequest then i have to use primary account which is not possible for me.

You need to verify your developer account using your CREDIT/DEBIT card -- this is the only way to get DEVELOPER MODE to show up on your Oculus app. Apparently using only phone number verification doesn't do the trick.

@SlaYeRx_x I have had a developer account for about 2 years (days past when we needed to sideload Virtual Desktop for Q1 wireless and to sideload sidequest apps. I have never verified it and I also see that this option does not appear on my iPhone anymore.

The Developer panel in my Q2 settings is still there and I can still turn Guardian on/off, which I hardly ever do tbh. So, since we now have app-labs I doubt I'll ever need developer mode anyway. As a non-developer it did seem like a pretty silly thing to have to setup a developer account initially.

he asked about enabling developer mode in his secondary account if you actually read what he said. He also said that he was able to set up developer mode in the primary account but not the secondary. I'm in the same situation. Family App sharing causes this situation, and would suck if family app sharing made sidequest and other developer features unavailable to that headset.

Note that Fire tablets can treat the USB with different transfer options. After connecting the USB cable, swipe down from the top of your tablet to see the USB option used. You might see various notifications, including the USB connection type that was used when you connected the cable. The relevant notification is highlighted in the screenshot below.

If you don't see "Connected as Media Device", press Tap for other USB options. Then select Media device (MTP). Later Fire OS versions have a different interface here. If you're using Fire OS 7, select File Transfer.

Once they are on go back to settings and you will see a new setting Developer Options and in that you turn on and off ADB debugging. As well as several other options that you probably just want to keep as default settings unless you are using Android Studio.

Hello, I am doing the same thing. I followed along and got the developer settings and everything set. Now I am wondering if I need to use Galaxy Watch Studio or Watch Face Studio and how to connect my watch in order to test the face designs.

Go to Settings

scroll down to About Watch tap on it

Scroll down to Software Info tap on it

Scroll down to Software Version tap on it 7 times and a dialog will open saying developer options enabled e24fc04721
