Deepin Screenshot is a screen capturing tool that comes with the deepin operating system and is developed by Wuhan Deepin Technology Co., Ltd. It can be useful to share images of your desktop environment, whether you are having fun or working. Deepin screenshot allows you to conveniently capture, annotate and crop images of your desktop environment or any program you may be running.

Currently there are three areas commonly captured: the full screen, program-window and customized area. When you select the relevant area to be captured, there will be a blue border around the screenshot area and highlight display within.

Apparently, without no reason, I've become unable to take screenshots using any of the system shortcuts (Ctrl + Alt + A, Print Scr, Ctrl + Print Scr, ...). Using the screenshot application directly does work, though.

I double checked the default shortcuts and they are mapped correctly. Actually, when I use any of them, the screenshot service is triggered. This is what I found in syslog whenever I trigger one of its keyboard shortcuts:

Getting back to the screenshot issue, would you recommend some workaround? In the end, it seems to be some kind of permissions issue and was working fine till one day before I post this question here.

Added "x-kde-force-image-copy" mime type to screenshots being copied to clipboard, which forces klipper clipboard manager to remember this clipboard entry even if user has set "ignore images" option to true in klipper.

Another thing you need to notice, deepin-screenshot should not exit too fast, otherwise the clipboard content will destroy before clipper manager finish syncing. This is important, if you just unchecked "ignore images" option in kde clipper manager, it will only work randomly, and mostly won't work.

Capturing the screen on Wlroots-based compositor can be done using grim or grimshotAUR (the sway package also provides grimshot in /usr/share/sway/scripts/) for screenshots and wf-recorder (or wf-recorder-gitAUR) for video; wlrobs-hgAUR is an obs-studio plugin that allows you to screen capture on wlroots-based compositors. Optionally, slurp can be used to select the part of the screen to capture. If your GPU supports vaapi encoding, wl-screenrec-gitAUR can be a more efficient alternative to wf-recorder.
