The new force main will cross the Grand Canal from the VPP at 140 Hurricane Street easterly to Marquesas Way, then southerly along Via Marina crossing the Marina Del Rey and Ballona Creek Channels to an existing coastal interceptor sewer junction structure on Vista Del Mar near Waterview Street via Pacific Avenue.

The Dual Force Plate gives you access to all the same force plate information as the Motion Plate, including total horizontal shear force, vertical force, and torque. Additionally, with the Dual Force Plate, you are able to study the individual horizontal shear forces, the individual vertical forces, and the individual free moment (twisting forces) produced by each foot. The Dual Force Plate also provides the location of the individual center of pressure (CoP) on each foot as well as the line joining them.

The Swing Catalyst Dual Force Plates measure the individual contributions of each foot in producing the ground reaction forces necessary for efficient golf swings. The system will also add up the contributions of each individual foot to give you the same information provided by the force plate component of our single plate 3D Motion plate. Results:  The average distalization time was 5 months, with a movement rate of 1.2 mm per month; the distalization amounts were 5.9 +/- 1.72 mm at the crown level and 4.4 +/- 1.41 mm at the furcation level. The average molar inclination was 5.6 degrees +/- 3.7 degrees ; this was less than the amount of inclination generated by bone-supported appliances that use single distalizing forces. The correlation between inclination and distalization was not significant, indicating predominantly bodily movement. The teeth anterior to the first molar moved distally also; the second premolars distalized an average of 4.26 mm, and the incisors retruded by 0.53 mm.

The purpose of this study was to explore the agreement between a wireless and portable dual force plate system, and an in-ground force plate system, which is an industry gold standard. The countermovement jump (CMJ) was compared across the two systems because it is the most popular force plate test in sports settings. Recreationally active adults (n=20) performed three maximal-effort CMJs on the portable force plates which were placed atop two adjacent in-ground force plates to enable simultaneous collection of raw force-time data (1000 Hz) over five seconds. Popular CMJ force-time variables were analysed for each system using a custom Microsoft Excel spreadsheet using criterion methods. Ordinary least products regression (OLPR) showed no fixed or proportional bias between the force plate systems for all variables. Thus, the portable force plate system may be considered a valid alternative to an industry gold standard for the assessment of CMJ force-time variables.

Using the solutions of the discretized equations that account for the boundary forcing terms, the critical speed for a dual traveling force for each mode could be computed.

This paper presents the design, simulation, fabrication, and testing processes of a new microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) microgripper, which integrates an electrostatic actuator and a capacitive force sensor. One advantage of the presented gripper is that the gripping force and interaction force in two orthogonal directions can be, respectively, detected by a single force sensor. The whole gripper structure consists of the left actuating part and right sensing part. It owns a simple structure and compact footprint. The actuator and sensor are fixed and linearly guided by four leaf flexures, respectively. The left arm of the gripper is driven through a lever amplification mechanism. By this structure, the displacement from the electrostatic actuator is transmitted and enlarged at the gripper tip. The right arm of the gripper is designed to detect the gripping and interaction forces using a capacitive sensor. The MEMS gripper is manufactured by SOIMUMPs process. The performance of the designed gripper is verified by conducting finite element analysis (FEA) simulation and experimental studies.
