Initially released as a PC and Xbox One exclusive, the critically-acclaimed Cuphead has just become available on PlayStation 4, giving a whole new group of players the chance to experience its unique art style and striking difficulty. While many of these new fans will prefer to take on Cuphead solo, others may wish to enjoy the title with their friends, leaving them to wonder if online multiplayer is available.

To get right to the matter at hand, players cannot start an online multiplayer session of Cuphead on PS4 through the game itself. That said, all may not be lost when it comes to playing the game from a distance, as some fans suggest that it is possible to use the PlayStation 4's Share Play feature to setup online cooperative play.

For the uninitiated, to use Share Play on PS4 a player simply needs to press the "Share" button on their DualShock 4 controller. From there they should follow the onscreen prompts to setup a Party with their friend and start a Share Play session, and this should essentially give Cuphead on PS4 a sort of online multiplayer support.

This is very similar to how PC players have been using Steam's Remote Play feature to setup online co-op Cuphead on that platform. While this approach may not be as streamlined as being able to simply launch online multiplayer from within the game, it is a suitable workaround for those fans that really want to experience co-op from afar.

While the absence of official online multiplayer support may be a bit disappointing to some fans, Cuphead's arrival on PS4 is still a big win for those players that have yet to experience the game. Additionally, it is possible that developer StudioMDHR will address this concern in a future update, though that does not seem extremely likely at this point.

Best Answer: No, Cuphead for Nintendo Switch will not have online multiplayer, just local two-player co-op. However, some cross-play functionalities with Xbox Live will be added in the coming months after launch, although we're not sure if online multiplayer is one of those features.Don't deal with the devil: Cuphead ($20 on Nintendo eShop)

While they could potentially add online multiplayer co-op for Cuphead with the future cross-play features, we're not sure how well it would perform. There is always the possible issue of latency and lag with online co-op, and Cuphead is a difficult game that's all about precision during those epic boss battles. It can still definitely happen since they're bringing in Xbox Live features, so we'll see.

The game features plenty of bells and whistles, but fans are wondering if the game features online multiplayer. The game already has some multiplayer function and several playable characters. But can players join up with each other online? Here's what you should know about multiplayer in Cuphead.

According to a Cuphead-related Reddit thread, there are hints hidden within the game's code that suggest that online multiplayer was going to be included, but evidently, that hasn't come to fruition. Some players on Reddit claim that they are able to "sorta" play online through Steam, but fans call the experience "too laggy" for a game that requires tight reflexes.

While the game lacks online multiplayer, is it at least available on Xbox Game Pass? After all, the game first started as an Xbox exclusive before getting ported to other systems in the years since its release.

Cuphead is a very challenging game, but sometimes all you need is a friend to make life just a bit easier. Thankfully, Cuphead makes it easy to play local multiplayer. The game has drop-in/drop-out cooperative play.

Details on Cuphead's Switch port are obviously still light since it was just announced, but Studio MDHR did say today that you'll be able to play as both Cuphead and Mugman either in single-player or through local co-op. There's no official word on whether or not the game will support online multiplayer via Switch Online, but considering that neither the PC nor the Xbox One versions offer online multiplayer, it's probably a long shot for the Switch.

Cuphead does not have online multiplayer, at least if you are playing the game on a console like a Switch or PlayStation. However, if you are playing on a PC, you can technically play the game with another person using the Parsec app.

Other than using screen-sharing apps like Parsec, the only form of multiplayer in Cuphead is only offline. It also does not seem like this feature will be actually put into the game, even with the release of their latest DLC.

First of all, i wanna thank you @Lucantoo and @MiNd_CrUsHeR for discovering this thing. Practically, if someone has already platinumed the game (or done some trophies) and then a friend of his joins in a local multiplayer game, if the friend beat (for example) a boss, he will unlock all of the bosses trophies. If the friend does a perfect parry, he will unlock the 20 and 100 parry trophies and so on. This works even for the pacifist trophy, so the friend will need to beat only a level to unlock directly the trophy.

I repeat: if one of your friends got the platinum and you join in his game by local multiplayer and do the trophy requirements, you will unlock all them automatically. This will cut tremendously the time to plat the game and will make the plat a walk in the park. But only in Local Multiplayer (Lucantoo and Crush doesn't know if this works even in Share Play). e24fc04721
