For us, this has been happening off and on for several months now. We get both error of "not enough memory" and "something went wrong" from the browser. Mostly work in Chrome but this happens in Firefox as well. It doesn't seem to matter if it is a complex project or ones with a simple map and few other simple widgets. We have also tried closing all other programs on our machines when this occurs.

Various troubleshooting efforts have been tried to figure out if there is a particular widget, dataset, browser, or complexity level of a project that might be causing the issue. However, we have had no luck. It is also not consistent from day to day. Co-worker had it crashing ever few minutes yesterday and I was working for several hours with only one crash. This morning, I'm working in the same project and it's crashing about every 3 to 5 minutes.

What we have been seeing is that it crashes in both the builder itself as well as the published app. Hope that it's somehow isolated to us, we have had others test the published items and they experience the same thing. The odd part is that you can go into the build editor and the published item days later and it may only crash once or twice or not at all. The (what seems like) inconsistency to this has really thrown us off.

We're having this issue as well at the moment. The experience I've created contains a number of dashboards in it. The team has been getting "Out of Memory" or "Something went wrong" error messages. Initially, I had them toggle between different browsers but it doesn't work anymore. It crashes on any browser now. Has anyone been able to identify the cause and a workaround for this? Thanks!

I've had some issues with the web experience I've built not consistently displaying the correct view when a button is clicked. I have 4 views that work like 60% of the time but then sometimes it will display the wrong one, and only refreshing the cache seems to (sometimes) fix the issue.

Sure, this is one of the few that we have public facing at the moment and about as large/complex as we have published publicly. We have other larger, more complex one internally but don't use them much because the do crash more. However, the part that has thrown our troubleshooting off the most is that one project may be really small and simple, yet crash constantly one day, then not at all or just very little another day. Or a medium size project that doesn't crash at all. I had a theory that it was embedding a dashboard but that didn't totally hold up. We can not seem to link it to the project size, data size, browser, or a specific widget. Currently, we are testing out to see if it has to do with spikes in memory use.

Sorry about that. Here is that example ( ). I have not seen any issues with this one in the past month but I haven't touched it since maybe February. There is another internal one that is crashing a lot for folks. I can't share it but there are two pages. First page consists of three embedded dashboards. Each dashboard is connected to the same dataset but shows different ways to summarize the data (map, bar and pie charts, indicator widgets and detail lists). The dataset has only about 20 attributes in it and we are only up to 50 test records. The second page uses the same dataset. It has one survey, a map that feeds a second survey, and feature detail widget.

This crashes in all browsers but the most in Firefox. We definitely see more crashes with projects that have dashboards embedded but still occurs with project where there are only basic experience builder widgets and no special effects configurations.

We have another one that constantly crashes EVERY time in Firefox but not in Chrome. Here is the public version of that map. There are a lot of layers but they are all off by default when you load the map.

Since couple of weeks my orbi app on android phone crashes everytime I try to login. It simnply freezes and the app crashes, I have tried re-installing the app, reset my router to factory settings, but nothing seems to help. Any advice is highly appreciated.

Unfortunately couldnt figure it out - so I moved to my trusty little ASUS router and changed the Orbi's into AP mode. That way I am able to control my network through the ASUS UI - which by the way has all the options including parental controls free of cost - which is otherwise a subscription on Orbi... the 100 odd $ ASUS unit does it all for me

App works on wife's S7, but crashes on mine. Uninstall, restart phone, reinstall, clear cache, clear data... still crashes. Sounds like a problem with my phone, any ideas to fix? Otherwise, I'll just use her phone when I want to check the network. Thanks.

No ideas. Ya, sounds like a specific problem with your phone and app issue. You can try this last a last resort. Back up the phone fully. Once thats done, factory reset the phone. Get it setup with some basic stuff first, don't re-load it from the backup just yet. Go in and install Orbi app and see if it loads wtih out crashing. If it does, then something that NG and Samsung should work on.

I'm having the same problem. The app worked fine on my S7 when I bought the Orbi RBK13 several months ago. I took the mesh down while back, and I decided last night to add it back to my home network. The app crashed when I opened it. I tried it again. I've unstalled it and installed it a few times. Half the time it crashes immediately. The other half I can only get to the point of it wanting to know my location. Crash.

Its appalling that the company has chosen to keep quiet while so many folks out there are having this same issue. If the app was built with IoS in mind, then thats okay - atleast they should advertize it that way so that while we spend $400 for the unit, all of us android users may as well spend another $800 to get an iphone !!

I am dismayed that Netgear has not responded to this issue in a meaningful way. It's been months since it was reported and it is clearly affecting quite a few people. This is not an Android problem, or a problem with a specfic model of smartphone. This is a Orbi software problem that Netgear has chosen to ignore. I spent good money for this product and it is not working properly. Netgear has had plenty of time to fix this issue. I will not be buying or recommending Netgear in the future.

This is happening to me as well. I was on v2021.2 and it crashed every time I opened it. I updated to v2021.3 to see if that fixed the issue, but it's still crashing every time I open it. I was using it all day yesterday without any issues and now today I'm having the problem.

I am working on perforated metal sheet. The sheet is sized 1000x2000mm and it has 5mm round holes all over. My problem is when i try to extrude the sheet the app crashes constantly. I tried to cut it into smaller parts and then extrude. It worked partly but it would be great if I could extrude the whole sheet in one go.

Hello @emilts, We would advice you to create a solid body out of the rectangle first using Extrude tool then subtract the circles using Subtract tool to avoid having imprint the whole body into already coincident sketches. That will fix the issue as we think that the app is crashing due to the device running out of memory because it might be an imprinting issue.

Thanks?

I just updated to 2024 v4 and now the software keeps crashing when I try to open a file. I have restarted the computer several times even powering it off completly and letting it sit for a minute and still crashes when I open a file. I was hoping this update would fix the issue with the settings box not resizing in the object info pallet, but this has made the software 100% unusable. Is there a way to revert back to the previous version?

I have sent an email for help. Nothing seems to be working I was able to get it to finally open a new drawing, but it is glacially slow compared to before the update. Also according to the Windows task manager the Vectorworks program is using almost 4.1GB of Memory which seems like a lot. I will update the post once I know more. Thinking of uninstalling the program and reinstalling it, but I am waiting for support to reach out first. Thanks for all the suggestions so far.

Hi Pete. Just a fui, that didnt work, thankfully I had a full VW24 sp2 install which i reinstalled and then updated back to 3.1 which is working fine. I'll just wait until I see news of sp4 being fixed or sp 5 coming out. 152ee80cbc
