I have a department who uses 4 Destops with cisco Jabber Version 12.6.1.34405 Build 284405 running, The issue is the users for this 4 station department is 8. So each user moves around signing in to Windows LDAP sync , then Jabber loads automatically since they login already once. We have a user who seems to have a corroupt Jabber profile now. The device never registers for her login but somone else Jabber profile is running. How is this issue resolved ? Do I delete IM Presence user profile, or do I delete the Jabber profile in CM and recreate it ?

Thank you for this update , this was the 101 of what we always do with this issue. I did forget to inform the group has a shared extension on their jabber device and in the user page the line is selected as primary with the IPCC ext selected. Would this cause a conflict having a shared exten on all user / agents ?

I have just enabled SAML for our cluster using ADFS 4. SSO works correctly with no password prompts when accessing admin pages via web browsers (chrome, Firefox and IE). With the jabber client I am prompted for an email (expected) and then immediately presented with a windows security login box (Not Expected). If I fill in my AD credentials, jabber will log in correctly. Looking at logs for this authentication it does seem that kerberos is indeed used. I have also disabled ExtendedProtectionTokenCheck in ADFS. IE security setting are set per: -communications/jabber-windows/118773-configure-kerberos-00.html

I've configured my jaber for windowss to use the parameter of windows credential on the jabber-config.xml file, I wanted to know If I should better put a plain text ID and password for lldap search (Microsoft Active Directory), Or leave the option of windows credentials.

Does it option have security consequences? for examble, travel de windows credentials in plain text to from the jabber client to LDAP server, through the network? (because it is a big security problem)

If you want it to work on non-domain joined workstations you would need to set static credentials. You can either change the global XML file to do this to everyone; or, create a separate one (e.g. jabber-config-standalone.xml) and point those users to it. Prior to CUCM 8.6(2a)SU2 you have to specify the alternate XML file at install time. With the current CUCM builds there is a new setting on the CSF device under Product Specific Configuration Layout in CUCM Administration. You will see a Cisco Support Field. In it you can specify configurationfile="yourfilename.xml". This will point Jabber to the non-default config file on the TFTP server.

Specifies a unique name for the global configuration file on your TFTP server. You should specify a value for this argument if your global configuration file does not use the default name of jabber-config.xml.

I am trying to login to Jabber 4 windows with a new user so I "Reset Jabber" and entered the new username and click continue. It shows as "finding services" and then it pulls the old ID and prompts the password. I tried deleting the folders from AppData but no luck. I also tried changing the user on the home-uds-info.xml but still no luck. Please help on this.

If not, that's the reason. Because when Jabber is trying to find it's services, it takes the windows user name and tries to locate it in Cisco UDS. If it found the username in CUCM, it automatically put the username in the login window and asks you the password. And it won't let you to enter another username as long as it find the same username always in UDS after finding services again.

I have the same issue. Every time I enter my username it changes it to my email address. It then tells me the username I didn't enter is incorrect. If I try to change it back to the correct username it asks me to reset jabber and the cycle starts again. Have tried reinstalling different versions, reset jabber 100 times, deleting all the jabber files under AppData. Have tried other usernames. Nothing works.

Hello, I have a problem with the name change in the Jabber, what happens, I have an extension (attachment) that was changed name, the change was made in the line and everything is fine, call and you see your name updated to the other end where the call is received, but for example I have an end user that has its annex and jabber, when this user calls the user who has jabber installed on his laptop, his phone appears with the correct name but in his jabber the user appears previous that had that associated line, know that it may be happening, because it does not update the name in the Jabber,

Users are synchronized with Active Directory with WS 2008R2

For those that had home computers we were allowing that also but due to some Cyber Security issues they can not now and can only connect using Company owned equipment that is under our control and this has raised some issues due to supply chain issues so we started playing with AWS and cloud desktops. This keeps everything secure, they are on our domain, and have access to the resources they need via our Amazon pipes (multiple 10 gig lines) . These initial 20 or so have been running jabber on that virtual desktop for 2+ months without an issue but the latest round we just built are having random issues.

there is a supremely annoying widget that jabber places along the top of my screen. it can be slid left or right. no matter where i slide it, it is always in the way of something, usually a remote desktop session tab or a chrome tab. i'd like to make it go away permanently - i don't use and it adds no value but only frustration to my workflow.

These are the MSI properties we used for out install. Keep in mind that most of the other settings are pushed out from the Cisco backend, ie we tried to get the backend to configure most of the jabber client, so minimal adjustments are required on install.

Side note, we used Skype for Business for our presence, so some of the settings below are to disable Jabber presence (presence = outlook, the green/yellow icon for online offline chat). Fyi, once jabber has set it self for presence, its a bit tricky to revert back to skype - leave a comment if you want more details on that.

Some users use a domain controller which will auto populate the users windows domain username into Jabber. This can cause problems in scenarios where the Jabber username differs from their windows domain username. This document documents the process for disabling UPN discovery.

With the deployment of the new UT phone system, we now have a robust soft client that can be installed on UT computers or your personal mobile device. This includes support for Windows, iOS, and Android platforms. For customers that have migrated to the new phone system, that are not utilizing a call center, a soft client option is available for installation. Please see the installation link below if installing on a UT managed Windows device. Software for all other platforms is available using the Apple App store or Google Play. If you intend to use a mobile device, a service request will need to be submitted to telecom indicating what number you want to access on your device, your UTAD user id information, and what platform you are using (i.e. iPhone or Android). This does not need to occur for windows computers. ff782bc1db
