When we launched Hype Chat, we believed that it offered a new way for viewers to stand out and support their favorite streamers who had larger audiences with fast-moving chats; as well as give streamers a new opportunity to celebrate their biggest supporters. From experiments we ran prior to launch, we believed that Hype Chat offered an easier way for viewers to support streamers - since it allowed a majority of viewers to directly purchase Hype Chats with their local currency.

I would like to see the new console app reverted or at least see the chat function come back to consoles. As someone who uses twitch and enjoyed watching twitch on console from time to time just the fact they removed that function.. was a bad move for the new gen consoles.

The fact you have to have a mobile device or a pc just to be able to chat is a bit absurd to me. I think twitch should be easy access for everyone I've even emailed them about it to because it's just not fair.

Bring back the ability to chat on consol back like it used to be. No one wants to use there phone instead of a usb keyboard or a controller, especially if they dont have a working phone, or use the phone to watch a 2nd channel if they have no pc like my self.

You changed something in the Xbox one app (maybe PS4 as well?) So that now I can no longer chat inside the app itself. I now literally have to use my phone to chat while I watch the stream on my TV. This is incredibly cumbersome.

There is no way for Xbox streamers to see their chat comfortably, some streamers such as myself stream from their Xbox but have no real good way of seeing the chat while gaming. I have seen this been brought up and talked about among other Xbox streamers, as well as streamers for other consoles as well. It's a widespread issue that hinders the quality of the stream for console streamers and viewers alike.

It's hard for a streamer on a console to interact with their viewers when they don't have the ability to see what they say. The only way I've been able to overcome this issue is by running the stream on my phone, which even then isn't a viable option 100% of the time.

PS5 chat "bubbles" are so f'n small, people can't type in more than 60 keystrokes before it's cut off and lost....Needs to be a side bar/box on the right middle side that keeps the chat active/scrolling so it can be watched....

Annoyingly enough at first Twitch did have a chat box feature for Xbox not sure on PS but they removed it to get people downloading the Twitch app instead. Wasn't the best as you could only see chat if you for example on Xbox if you pressed the Home button but it was there so Twitch could easily implement it in a better way as it would be a lot easier

Yes please I use a sound board in game chat and my streams aren't nearly as funny since you just hear me play my sound board and can't hear why I'm playing it or the funny stuff that conversation that happens because of it

My friend and I just downloaded twitch and made an account on our Xbox consoles so we can help each other out but neither I or her can see each other's chat rooms why is that how are we supposed to help each other out if we cannot see the chat rooms I wish twitch would fix that I mean mixer had it and yet they took it away

Sends a Shoutout to the specified broadcaster. Typically, you send Shoutouts when you or one of your moderators notice another broadcaster in your chat, the other broadcaster is coming up in conversation, or after they raid your broadcast.

AutoMod is a moderation tool that holds inappropriate or harassing chat messages for moderators to review. Moderators approve or deny the messages that AutoMod flags; only approved messages are released to chat. AutoMod detects misspellings and evasive language automatically. For information about AutoMod, see How to Use AutoMod.

Valid values for all levels are from 0 (no filtering) through 4 (most aggressive filtering). These levels affect how aggressively AutoMod holds back messages for moderators to review before they appear in chat or are denied (not shown).

When you call the API from a chat bot or extension, the Twitch UX pops up a window at the top of the chat room that identifies the number of viewers in the raid. The raid occurs when the broadcaster clicks Raid Now or after the 90-second countdown expires.

After the most recent Twitch app update, I can no longer open the chat box on the right side of the screen when watching VODs. There seems to just be no option to turn it on. Is it just me, or has this feature been removed? It is severely impacting my enjoyment of both the device and the website.

This action stores the result of the calculation set, which in this case is the message ( '${twitch-chat0}' is the code holding the last send Twitch Message) from Twitch and then subtracts the text !command from it.

In this simple example we just reply in the chat with a thank you to the user that was specified in the !command chat message. So !command John would result in a message send to Twitch like Thank you John!

The Replace in Value action is ableto use regex to replace parts of the given Value. We are going to use this to store the arguments into a value and then strip everything except the n-th argument. The result is that we can use the n-th argument from the Twitch chat message. Lets work with an example like this: !shoutout John Doe. ff782bc1db
