My canon printer (capt driver) had worked flawlessly with archlinux for about 3 months, then suddenly it failed.
I tried to get it back to work, but even going back to a snapshot from the period it did work didn't help.
I sold it to someone that liked windows 8 and would never contemplate switching to linux, and they are still very happy with the printer.
I bought a new printer that does have a good opensource driver (AFTER i confirmed with openprinting.org there was a well working opensource driver for this printer).
A client received a Canon ImageRunner Advance C3325i yesterday, and it requires authentication for any computer to print (both through the canon driver AND AirPrint). The only user set up is the Administrator, and it's a small office with no need for the additional auth to print. Anyone know where to specifically remove the authentication requirement to print?
