You paid good money for that camera, so get it out of your bag and use the dang thing. With Capture, you can safely and comfortably carry your camera anytime, anywhere, and always have instant access.

I took out my brand new Camera Clip v3, which was staying in a bag for too long, and started playing with it, putting the plate (before I actually set it on the camera) with ease. However, I must have set it on a wrong side, and the plate got stuck on the camera clip. I could move the trigger, loosen the screws, but the plate could move out of the clip. Looking at it, it seemed it may have entered sideones some way. I tried to pull the plate's screw as well.

I then tried to hammer gently on the plate to get it out, put it resulted in choping the stop,of the plate... The result is that the plate is still stuck in the plate and I still haven't figured out how to get it out. Though a bit damaged, the clip is still functional. And I have another plate for my camera. Anybody understands this problem and can help?

My husband, Justin, and I are professional travel bloggers and accordingly, take our cameras, well, pretty much everywhere. After putting our cameras in our backpacks or camera bags for seemingly an eternity, we transitioned to using the Peak Design Capture Clip a few years ago, which allows you to securely attach your camera to a backpack strap or belt and release it with a simple click of a button.

You can then sandwich your backpack strap, belt, or bag strap of your choice between the inner and outer portion of the clip and then simply tighten the bolts. For a more permanent connection, Peak Design includes a second set of bolts, without knurled heads, that can be snuggly tightened using a provided allen key.

As mentioned above, my favorite thing about the Peak Design Capture Clip is how readily available your camera will be to take photos, especially as compared to if you have your camera tucked away in a backpack or a sling.

While I primarily see most Capture Clips used to simply hold cameras onto a backpack strap (seriously, it seems like every YouTuber that I watch uses one of these things), the clip can be used for SO much more than that.

While the Capture Clip itself has held up impeccably, the plate that attaches to our cameras has gotten a bit worn out after several years of use. We can still use our Capture Clips and the plate just fine together, but it usually takes a teeny more fiddling around to get our cameras to slide into the clip and click into place.

After SensualTomato shared his story and warning on Reddit, other photographers have shared similar experiences with camera clip failures, and a common cause appears to be various screws loosening (and sometimes falling out) over time without the photographer knowing.

I always carry my Clip with me, wherever I go. However, I only clip it on when there is some special occasion. For instance, holidays, travels or meeting an old friend for a cup of coffee. In the beginning, I used it more as a lifelogging device, but nowadays I use it for more special occasions. I use it a lot when I am out at restaurants and bars.

Two of the major improvements in Clip 2 are the GPS function and the light sensitivity of the camera. With a better GPS function, the user can easily find where the pictures have been taken. The upgraded light sensitivity will enhance the picture quality in darker surroundings such as bars and pubs

There are many improvements from the original Narrative Clip to Narrative Clip 2. Some examples are higher image resolution, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and a wider-angle lens on the camera. All these improvements are really exciting, and I can't wait to try them out.

Note: Local storage clips that are automatically backed up to your USB drive do not auto-delete. However, if you've reached maximum storage capacity on that drive, backups are no longer created and more storage space must be made available for clip backup to resume.

If you have a Sync Module 2 with a USB flash drive and an active Blink subscription plan, a daily backup of your Cloud Storage clips are also saved to the USB drive. These backup clips are not viewable in the Blink app, but are viewable when the USB drive is inserted into your computer. Backups are added to the drive every 24 hours the moment you plug in the USB drive.

If you have Blink Subscription Plan, clip backups are video files which are created every 24 hours and stored on a USB plugged into your Sync Module 2. The Blink app does not display or let you replay clip backups. You must first safely eject your USB flash drive from the Sync Module 2 and then plug it into a PC to view your clip backups.

When your primary storage type changes (i.e., switching from Cloud storage to Local Storage or vice-versa), all clips stay where they were created until they reach the auto-delete limit or get deleted manually.

We removed your Cloud tab

This warning message appears when you stop or cancel your subscription, and all of your Cloud storage clips have either been deleted or reached their auto-delete time.

Clip Backup downloads all clips from eligible cameras that were saved to your Cloud Storage and writes them to the USB flash drive that's plugged into your Sync Module 2.

Clip Backup occurs once a day. It is possible that the clip you are looking for was not included in a backup. Check the last backup time and date to see if your clip is included. The time and date each clip was created can be seen on the media screen.

When your USB flash drive has less than 375MB of storage space, clips are no longer saved, and clip backups stop.

If you do not have enough free space on your USB flash drive, backups cannot continue. Clip recording resumes when there is enough free space. Delete clips to make space or insert a new USB storage drive with more space into the Sync Module.

Local Storage clips may take a few moments to appear in the Blink app because they are being uploaded from your Sync Module 2. Blink recommends your Wi-Fi and internet upload speeds have a minimum of 2 MB/sec for best results.

It is worth mentioning that Cloud Storage with a Blink subscription plan allows for rapid video access as well as thumbnails for each clip. Learn more about the benefits of having a Blink subscription plan.

Are you getting real tired, real quick of the ol' shoulder strap method of carrying your camera around? Me too, and I've been on a journey to rid myself from it once and for all. In this hands-on review I take a closer look at the Peak Design Capture Camera Clip v3.

I used an older version (I forget which one- but it was only about a year and a half ago). It worked very well, even on a DSLR / heavy wide angle lens setup. This would be outstanding for smaller cameras - I'm thinking smaller mirrorless with lighter lenses. It felt well-made, sturdy. I can't comment on the newer iterations, but even the older model felt well-designed. Peak makes a pretty good product across the board for staps / clips.

My use was on a full-day hike up and down elevation; nothing got banged around and the camera and lens were safe. As long as you take care. Remember, you have an expensive camera/lens combination hanging off the front of your chest- you don't want to forget that!

I have the v2 and what I don't like is that on a shoulder strap, the camera sags forward even with a normal lens. I also have to double check that I inserted the plate correctly in the clip, because it's so low profile that some times it doesn't insert properly on the first attempt. It does work a lot better on the outside of the Everyday Messenger bag though.

Took an earlier version of this on a ten day backpacking trip. By about day two I had no problems releasing the camera with one hand in one smooth motion. I noticed in your pictures that you had the camera mounted to your left strap. Try mounting on the right strap so that the release button on the clip is on the outside. I was using my right hand to grab the grip of the camera and my right thumb would press the button down as i slid up. It took a little getting used to but once i had it figured out I was missing a lot less shots.

I have the V3 along with the Pro Pad and the new PD Slide Lite Strap. I just came back from a a week of hiking in Sedona. The Capture worked great on my Osprey Atmos 25 daypack along with my Panasonic G85. It's so much easier to hike mountains with trekking poles when a camera is not swinging from chest or side. That and always having the camera at the ready allows for more photo taking. No more sliding a sling pack around and having to reach in to retrieve the camera.

I know it's a year later now, but wanted to say they sell their Dual Plate that fits both their Capture clip AND Manfrotto slots. So you don't need to buy another tripod or head - just release the camera and drop it right onto your tripod.

Seems to me that you are reaching for negative things to say about the capture clip. If the quick release plate blocks your battery access I suppose any quick release plate would do likewise. I also think that a D-ring screw would be a big mistake. Considering the amount of movement when you are walking with a camera attached I want the connection with the camera to be as solid as possible - my fingers are not strong enough to get the screw as tight as I want it. As far as the balance issue is concerned, I use two of the original Capture clips - a small Micro 4/3 camera on one side and my binoculars on the other. Works like a charm.

I use the clip V3 on my LoweproFastpack BP250AW en it's fits perfect for me. Only (big) negative is the the it blocks the battery door of my X-T2. I found out too late. I also have a grip from Fittest LB-XT2 arca-swiss which didn't block the battery door. Removing the plate is something I'm not happy with.

A camera clip for your backpack is a modern accessory that can be handy for your DSLR. They have quick release features that's easy to access when you're on the go with your camera. Yet, the whole idea of using a camera clip can seem scary to some photographers due to its size. Nonetheless, here are a couple of things to consider when finding the best camera clip. 2351a5e196
