I just recently upgraded my device on an existing line to an unlocked Samsung s23 ultra and have just noticed I am no longer able to make video calls with the rest of my family. Is there a way to fix this so that I am able to make video calls using the SIM card that is in my device verses having to use google hangouts or facebook messenger.

There is absolutely no reason Verizon doesn't have a capacity to create the methodology for customers to have video calling on an unlocked phone. For God's sakes there still staying with Verizon as a carrier. Video calling should be a reward!

I am experiencing the same issue with my unlocked S23 ultra, to add insult to injury I moved over from ATT with an unlocked pixel 7 pro and video calling worked just fine for that device. It's not like samsung doesn't build video calling into the phones after all.

I just got an unlocked S23 Ultra. I cannot believe that Verizon does not allow video calling. My family uses that feature frequently, and I am beyond upset over this. What is this, punishment because I don't have a branded phone? I'm still using their service! We've been loyal customers for almost 30 years now, but this has us thinking it is time to switch carriers. Unless Verizon fixes this issue, they are going to lose my whole family.

It's ridiculous, one of my kids has an old Verizon branded phone that will make Verizon video calls, even if I put a mint mobile card in it, but my other has an unbranded unlocked phone that won't, even though she's on my Verizon plan.

However, on reinstalling it, whenever I hit get started with my cell phone number automatically filled in, I get thrown back after a minute or so to the landing page with the error banner at the bottom of the page saying "We couldn't authenticate your device, please try again later.". Needless to say, trying again later doesn't help.

I have the same problem! I am not the main number on my family account but the app automatically prefills "current account" with my phone number and then says it can't authenticate the device / to try again later.

A Welcome Call is an introduction for you to your Business Digital Voice VoIP service. This is a critical first step in your Business Digital Voice installation process. During this short, 30-minute call, we will assist you in the following ways:

You will start receiving calls from a 1-877 toll free number 3 days before your installation. You can complete your Welcome Call at that time or schedule an appointment. If you do not answer the call, we will leave you a voicemail and email with information to get in touch with us.

If you are within 3 days of your Business Digital Voice installation and have not received a Welcome Call, call 1.877.706.4521 to schedule or complete your call. This support group can only help with your initial Welcome Call. Any order, install, or date questions should be directed to 1-800-Verizon.

Subject says it all. As a US user, what happens when other US users call my ten-digit domestic number? Does it just go through? Are they told they need to dial the number with the country code for where I am? Do they need an international calling plan or will they be billed?

I called the Verizon international customer serivce line and asked, and they said my ten-digit domestic number can be dialed, but they would also be billed if they didn't have an international plan. I'm brining this question here since the Verizon customer service representative didn't sound very sure, and this also doesn't make a lot of sense. If someone calls me that doesn't know I'm out of the country, they could be easily soaked by international calling fees, no? What happens if my child's school tries to call from a landline for emergency purposes etc.?

I assume with Travelpass that if someone manages to call me (per above) the next 24 hr cycle of Travelpass would activate when I answer a call? Not just ring - answer, correct? This is all assuming that I haven't activated Travelpass yet for that day.

Finally I asked the Verizon international customer serivce line how I call another US based cell phone while we're both abroad. I was told to use the country code we're in, but other community posts say to dial like you're calling back to the US. This latter answer makes more sense to me, but can someone with direct experience set the record straight please?

As a friendly suggestion, this really needs to be added to the international FAQs. It's well documented the plans etc. that I would need to call out while travelling abroad, but doesn't mention much that I've found on how incoming calls from friends or family are handled.

When you are travelling in a foreign country and someone from the USA calls you, they just use your regular 10 digit USA number, no country code, and it will go through to you. They do not get charged international long distance and it is just as if you are in the USA.

When someone wants to call you from the USA, they do not dial the international country code you are in, just your regular 10 digit number. For you to call them, you do need to dial the USA country code preceded by the plus sign, I.e. +1 111 222 3333

Wifi calling when in airplane mode and on wifi will work just like you are in the USA. Calling home is free, people calling you from USA is free, texting is free, and it does not trigger TravelPass. You cannot call in the country you are in when in Wifi calling mode as that will be international long distance. That is a distinct difference than when in TravelPass mode and connected to the foreign cellular tower, as in that situation you can call in the country you are in and back to the USA without long distance charges.

Well all the phones I have had which were non smart phones when I turn my phone off I have never gotten missed call notices. It stands to reason the phone needs to be on for that to happen because there is no power to the phone for it to register ia missed call so that's why it goes right to voicemail. Usually if I call my husband and voicemail picks up on the first ring then I know his phone is off and if it rings a bit then voicemail picks up then I know his phone is on but he is not near it to hear it. If you leave a message and the person checks their voicemail regularly they should get it and answer. I do anyway but my husband is a different story since he hardly uses his phone and then he will give someone his cell number and it could be weeks before he notices the voicemail icon so I try and check his phone every few days to see he doesn't miss anything that might be important. He is technologically challenged when it comes to this stuff. Mary

baumgrenze, as mentioned, if your phone is powered off and you get a phone call, you will not see the Missed Call notification when you turn the phone back on. The only way you will know someone called you, is if they leave a message, as the Message Waiting Indicator will notify you.

Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Westchester), Senator James Skoufis (D-Orange/Rockland/Ulster) and local EMS brought attention to a dangerous dead zone on a 4-mile stretch of roadway from Rockland into Orange County on Thursday. Drivers traveling on the Palisades Interstate Parkway, Route 6, and around Harriman State Park are unable to make a life-saving 911 call in the case of an emergency.

The move, which the carrier told the Chicago Tribune is part of a call center consolidation plan, is set to hit locations in Rochester and New York City, New York; Bangor, Maine; Lincoln, Nebraska; Wallingford and Meriden, Connecticut; and Rancho Cordorva, California.

Jobs impacted include 850 positions in New York; 1,000 positions in California; 320 jobs in Nebraska; 200 positions in Maine; and 550 jobs in Connecticut. A further 175 positions at a call center in Huntsville, Alabama, are also being relocated to Hanover, Maryland.

The agreement, covering approximately 40,000 employees, called for workers to receive a 10.5% wage increase over the four-year term of the deal, with the company committed to hiring approximately 1,300 new workers. Verizon Communications, for its part, said it gained the ability to offer special buyout incentives to employees and health care cost savings for current and retired workers under its pension plan.

Verizon Wireless late last week announced plans to shut down or consolidate a number of contact centers in Washington, Texas, Michigan, and California, affecting as many as 3,175 jobs. The call centers field customer complaints and questions.

The company will close its call centers in Bellevue, Wash., and Southfield, Mich., by the end of June. A third facility in Houston will close in the third quarter. Verizon will also consolidate a call center in Folsom, Calif., into another facility in Rancho Cordova, Calif., and consolidate its Internet Response-Chat Team operations, which currently run out of several facilities across the country, into two locations in Ohio and Illinois. 2351a5e196
