I tried to find solutions but i coudnt find how to turn on "Web Protection" from xiaomi's android. It says that its needed to find the "Bitdefender" app on the acessibility list, but there isnt any list at all.

Go to Settings-> Installed Apps. On top you have three dots, tap on that three dots will pop up a menu, select Default app. Under browser part, set Chrome as default. After this operation, every link you open will be loaded in Chrome browser.

Has anyone managed to get the edit a PDF working on a Xiaomi tablet? (I am on MIUI 14.0.4)

Editing PDF's from within the dropbox website works fine on Windows, Mac, iPad, using any browser.

However on this Xiaomi, I have tried 5 browsers, and none of them will show the "Edit" menu item at the top when the PDF is open.

Noting that all tests are with the same dropbox account, looking at the same dropbox file. I have never seen this issue on Windows, MacOS or iPad, just on the Xiaomi tablet

1. So on the Dropbox app on a tablet, when viewing a PDF, in the bottom left of the page there is the edit button. Its there on my iPads, but the same file, with the same login is missing the "Edit" in the bottom left in the Dropbox app on the Xiaomi tablet.

2. When in a browser and on the Dropbox page, when you open a pdf, there is menu at the top. It is: Download | Open in | Add Signatures| Edit ...

This Edit option/link exists on all the browsers on my iPad, but never in any browsers on the Xiaomi. When the same pdf if open on the Xiomi, the menu is: Download | Open in | Add Signatures |. ... (and there is nothing in the ...)

I know know how screenshots will help, but i will get them for you now.

Thanks for the prompt response.

All that i have access to at the moment, which is 5. none of them work i.e I have looked at 5 PDF's that are editable in the Dropbox app, and in browsers on iPad/Windows/MacOS, but for which there is no edit button on the Xiaomi. Also these are small, simple PDF's. Nothing locked, not large, not complicated, just single pages.

I could try resetting the Xiaomi to factory settings, just in case?

I really wanted to rule this out, and its not used for anything else, so confirming i have now factory reset the Xiaomi pad 5 running MIUIPad 14.0.5.0 . Its updated to latest security patch/

I installed the dropbox app, and opened a really simple PDF test.pdf that is editable in Windows/Mac/iPad, however in the Dropbox app on this Xiaomi, still there is no edit button in the bottom left.

I opened the default browser, Chrome, signed into the Dropbox website, opened a test.pdf that is editable on Windows/Mac/iPad and when i open it in a browser window on the Xiaomi, there is still no edit option in the menu at the top.

Thanks,

Mi Brower is Xiaomi's official web browser that comes pre-installed on all its phones. That being said, this app is compatible with other phone and tablets and even has a few unique features to offer.

This browser stands out for its minimalist design that makes web browsing super easy. Simply open the Mi Browse app to open its home page, which has various web links organized by category. This page is totally customizable, so users can add their own frequently visited sites.

And of course, Mi Brower has all the typical features expected in a web browser: tabs, an incognito mode, various default search engines to choose from. As well as those options, Mi Browser also offers several accessibility features, such as various font sizes.

Uptodown is a multi-platform app store specialized in Android. Our goal is to provide free and open access to a large catalog of apps without restrictions, while providing a legal distribution platform accessible from any browser, and also through its official native app.

This is not specific to Xiaomi and other vendors on Android - the same is true with Microsoft on Windows (which changes system behavior in order to force users to use their own browser Edge), Apple on iOS etc. And it is not restricted to more obvious digital devices like smartphones and notebooks, but is also true for SmartTV, modern cars ...

Adding to Steffen's excellent answer, there's what is called an Over-The-Air update, that allows for updating your mobile phone (or any embedded system that is designed properly) at will, without your concent or you even noticing (e.g. a/b updates for android).

I couldn't do that, but I created web app that can run in any browser that supports web Bluetooth API. So it works fine on Windows/macOS via any chromium based browser. On iOS unfortunately most of the browsers do not support this api but there is a gem. In the App Store there is Bluefy - Web BLE Browser that supports this very important feature. So via Bluefy the app can also run on iPhone/iPad.

Mi Browser is a Xiaomi web browser that's packed with features, including a video downloader, file manager, private folders, and more. In many ways, it's similar to Mint Browser, but with quite a few more features.

This Xiaomi browser is on par with more traditional web browsers and has all the same basic features: web browsing with tabs, links on the home screen, incognito mode, etc. But Mi Browser has some extra features that make it stand out from the rest. For example, it can download photos and videos from Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Not only that, but you can even download your contact's WhatsApp statuses.

Mi browser also offers an easy way to manage the files on your smartphone, both files that been download with the web browser and other items. You can also create private folders and secure them with a passcode, so no one else can access those files.

Overall, Mi Browser is an excellent web browser that comes with the Xiaomi seal of quality. It's a great option for anyone looking for a feature-packed web browser, as it includes a night mode, instant translation, voice search, and more.

I appreciate you want to get the existing entry working first which is fine, but if there is also a problem saving a new password for this website and browser combination, it could ultimately be due to exactly the same cause so bear that in mind while testing.

Microsoft Teams can be installed on PCs, Macs, and mobile devices, and can also be accessed via a web browser. Most end users can start using Teams just by installing the client themselves. After they install the Teams client, all they need to do is sign in with their username and password.

The browser client ( ) is a full, functional client that can be used from various browsers. The browser client supports Calling and Meetings by using webRTC; so there's no plug-in or download required to run Teams in a browser. The browser must be configured to allow third-party cookies.

1 To give and take control of shared content during sharing, both parties must be using the Teams desktop client. Control isn't supported when either party is running Teams in a browser. This is due to a technical limitation that we're planning to fix.

Running Teams in a browser is supported on PCs and Macs that meet the minimum Hardware requirements for Microsoft Teams. For example, running Firefox on the Linux operating system is an option for using Teams.

The browser client performs browser version detection upon connecting to If an unsupported browser version is detected, it will block access to the browser interface and recommend that the user downloads the desktop client or mobile app.

Some time ago we wrote how to get rid of very important news sent by pre-installed browser on Meizu running Android 7. And today we decided to post a step-by-step guide on how to do the same with the Browser app on Xiaomi running Android 9 or 8.

MIUI Polska writer and code sleuth Kacper Skrzypek noted on Twitter that some versions of MIUI are now shipping with the Opera Browser as a pre-installed app. This claim was echoed by Xiaomi device owners on social media, reporting the addition of the venerable web browser.

There are not many desktop-class browser on mobile devices who can provide that. I was using Droid Web Inspector, which was kind of ok, but not really comparable to the inspector on desktop browsers such as Chrome, Firefox or Safari. I also tried adding a library such as Eruda or mobileConsole. These libraries load a Javascript console that gets close to the real thing, but you have to include the JS code into every website you are trying to debug, which is unfeasible for pro usage. ff782bc1db
