Finishing the braid: Keep adding your bulbs and braiding your stems, finishing on a center bulb. From this point continue braiding the stems for a few inches. With your length of twine, tie a tight knot to tie the end of this braid. Fold the remaining stem ends over backwards (Make the fold at least an inch above your first knot) and tie again behind your braid. Double knot this tie then create a simple knot with the end of the string to create a loop for hanging. Cut off the string and stem ends and VOILA!

Depending on the variety of garlic you grew and how well you cured it, these braids could last up to a year if hung in a dark, cool room. To remove a bulb, simply twist it a few times to pop it off the braid. Use the bulbs at the top first.

Hi Tamara, i have all of my squares done for the rainbow baby blanket. I want to use the tight braid method. I understand i do the last round all the way around the first square but i dont understand how many sides i do on the rest of them. And do you have a tutorial on this tight braid method for left handers?

Thank you! Just made it this evening, and the only step I added was to brush water along the tips of the braids, so they would stick when I fold them over. Work marvelously. To brown the top; brushing it with egg white/water mixture helps a lot.

A little late to the party, but this sounds so yummy! I make a similiar bacon cheeseburger braid (ground beef, ketchup, mustard, relish, bacon, and cheese) but I am definitely making the BBQ chicken version this weekend! Thank you for the idea ?

Just made this dough this morning. I used 1/2 wheat flour, 1/2 white flour. What a delicious bread! It was so easy to make. 1/2 of the dough turned into a pepperoni, cheese braid (which was fabulous) and the other 1/2 became hamburger buns. You have changed my life Mel. Homemade bread for me!!!

I made this tonight! It was a huge hit. I did not braid mine though. I just made it like a Stromboli. I will be making this again and will have to try some of your other recipes. I just found your site today through Moneysavingmom.com. I was in desperate need of something for dinner and I had all the ingredients for this! Thanks for a great recipe!

I made this tonight, Melanie and they turned out GREAT!! I changed the filling as we were having the braid WITH bbq chicken, so I stuffed one with sundried tomatoes from my own garden, pesto, feta and mozzarella; and I did the other with traditional pizza things like pepperoni, sauce, banana peppers and mozzarella.

This year, I learned my lesson and fervently barricaded the garden gate as my onions matured. My efforts were rewarded with a gorgeous crop, and I could hardly wait for them to cure so the braiding could begin.

Some varieties of onions are better suited for storage than others. As a general rule, sweet onions have the shortest shelf life, so if you are wanting to braid and keep your onions throughout the winter, plan on using your strongest, most pungent varieties.

Which onions do you use first? I would guess at the top of the braid so the braid stays in place. I think red pepper strings are pretty also. Thank you so much for helping all of us ladies to learn so much

Make the filling (while dough rises): Combine all the filling ingredients (except the lemon curd) in a small bowl, mixing until smooth and lump-free. Reserve the filling and lemon curd until ready to fill the braids.

Deb,Very nice!! I love the braids, they are somewhat long in making, but well worth it.I started out with the Blueberry Braid off of,The Fresh Loaf, about a year ago,and have twisted it to many versons, but as of now, never tried the lemon.Yes,you planted the seed,I will have to try it.Love the site, and thanks for your time and love baked into each dish! Jim

I forget the issue of moving the braid every time I make my taco braid and every single time my husband and I end up using every spatula and free finger to pry it off the counter and move it to the baking sheet.

I just wanted to share a tip! I used a 1215 inch silpat for kneading and shaping the dough. Its shape was also a perfect guide for rolling out the dough before braiding. Then I just put the whole thing on a cookie sheet. It made the whole process super easy. I love your site!

I think that leaving the dough overnight in the fridge made it really easy to work with. I pressed it out by hand onto a silpat mat which provided a good guideline for the correct size rectangle, and then flipped it over onto another silpat to brush off the extra flour before filling and braiding.

I have been scouring your website for the recipe for those beautiful beautiful scones you show in the picture with the braided lemon bread. You did a lovely job swirling the berries or jam into the dough to get the perfect look! Is the recipe available? Thank you.

When I make yeast dough I always add half of flour first, let it rise, than add the rest and let it rise again. Adding all of it at once makes it too heavy to rise, I think. Made it second time today, even better than last time! Shared one braid with neighbours, they loved it too!

I make this lemon braid bread every Easter. Everyone loves it, especially my daughter. I have never let my bread get as dark brown as the one shown in the photo here. I think it was over baked. I bake my lemon braid bread until it is a light golden brown.

Step Three: You can make your braid a traditional French braid by crossing the sections over each other or a Dutch braid (as I did here) by crossing them under each other. Cross the furthest right strand under the middle, then the furthest left strand under that new middle strand.

Step Four: Add some hair to your furthest right strand and again cross it under the middle strand. Again cross the furthest left strand under the new middle strand. Unlike other braids where you add hair to both outer sections as you braid, this style works best if you only add hair on one side.

I love this stitch! It is fun to work, it works up rather quickly, and it can be used anywhere you want a heavier chain-stitch-like line that has a bit of texture to it and looks braided. It really is a lovely stitch!

The mapping class action of the braid group over the free group isalso implemented, see MappingClassGroupAction for anexplanation. This action is left multiplication of a free groupelement by a braid:

The Burau matrix of the braid. It is a matrix whose entriesare Laurent polynomials in the variable var. If reducedis True, return the matrix for the reduced Burau representationinstead in the format specified. If reduced is 'unitary',a triple M, Madj, H is returned, where M is the Burau matrixin the unitary form, Madj the adjoined to M and Hthe hermitian form.

If skein_normalization if False, this returns an elementin the symbolic ring as the Jones polynomial of the closure mighthave fractional powers when the closure of the braid is not a knot.Otherwise the result is a Laurent polynomial in variab.

If normalized is False, return instead the Markov traceof the braid, normalized by a factor of \((A^2+A^{-2})^n\). Theresult is then a Laurent polynomial in variab. Otherwise itis a quotient of Laurent polynomials in variab.

Return the reverse of self obtained by reversing the order of thegenerators in its word. This defines an anti-involution on the braidgroup. The link closure of it has the reversed orientation (see theexample below of a non reversible knot).

This automorphism maps a braid to another one by replacing each generatorin its word by the inverse. In general this is different from the inverseof the braid since the order of the generators in the word is not reversed.

The Vikkel Braid, also called a Lateral Braid, or Estonian Braid, produces a beautiful decorative braid effect. It's gorgeous, the only problem is that if you're working in the round, it leaves a pretty hideous jog at the beginning/end of the round.

Work either the easier method" or the" harder method" above, but at the beginning, knit 1 st with the new color, then replace the stitch just worked back onto the left needle before proceeding with the instructions as written. This will leave a tiny gap below the braid, but it's hardly noticeable.

If you want to knit the braid as a stripe of contrasting color, there is yet another special technique that requires working both colors across the round. Here is a great tutorial on the knotions blog.

I understand. Perfectionism is an affliction that I too suffer from. So okay yes, there is still yet another method that looks absolutely perfect, but it involves cutting the yarn, which is not ideal in my opinion. This technique also works if you are working the braid with a new color of yarn (no modifications necessary).

Penflex produces a wide variety of braid and braided products. Braid is a flexible wire sheath surrounding a metal hose that prevents the hose from elongation created by internal pressure. Braid is composed of a number of wires wrapped helically around the hose while at the same time going under and over each other in a basket weave fashion.

See Penflex Product Catalog for hose dimensions and braid constructions as well as for further details on design, installation and use, temperature adjustment factors, and other technical specifications. Product data sheets listed below.
