Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.

In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened.

When Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he went to his house where he had windows in his upper chamber open toward Jerusalem. He got down on his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done previously.

He who flees at the sound of the terror shall fall into the pit, and he who climbs out of the pit shall be caught in the snare. For the windows of heaven are opened, and the foundations of the earth tremble.

Its side rooms, its jambs, and its vestibule were of the same size as the others, and both it and its vestibule had windows all around. Its length was fifty cubits, and its breadth twenty-five cubits.

And its windows, its vestibule, and its palm trees were of the same size as those of the gate that faced toward the east. And by seven steps people would go up to it, and find its vestibule before them.

In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, [if] the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see [it] with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.

And that lord answered the man of God, and said, Now, behold, [if] the LORD should make windows in heaven, might such a thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.

And it shall come to pass, [that] he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.

And [there were] narrow windows to the little chambers, and to their posts within the gate round about, and likewise to the arches: and windows [were] round about inward: and upon [each] post [were] palm trees.

And their windows, and their arches, and their palm trees, [were] after the measure of the gate that looketh toward the east; and they went up unto it by seven steps; and the arches thereof [were] before them.

And the little chambers thereof, and the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, according to these measures: and [there were] windows in it and in the arches thereof round about: [it was] fifty cubits long, and five and twenty cubits broad.

And the little chambers thereof, and the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, [were] according to these measures: and [there were] windows therein and in the arches thereof round about: [it was] fifty cubits long, and five and twenty cubits broad.

The door posts, and the narrow windows, and the galleries round about on their three stories, over against the door, ceiled with wood round about, and from the ground up to the windows, and the windows [were] covered;

Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the cormorant and the bittern shall lodge in the upper lintels of it; [their] voice shall sing in the windows; desolation [shall be] in the thresholds: for he shall uncover the cedar work.

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that [there shall] not [be room] enough [to receive it].

The Apocrypha books are 14 books that were included between the old and new testaments in the original King James Version of the bible and many others. Church leaders agreed that these books were valuable for instruction in life and manners, but did not all agree that they should be considered cannon.

The Childrens Bible provides bible lessons from the Old and New testaments. There are 216 stories written in plain english. The stories are easy to read and understand but they are not just for childern. It is a pleasure to read and enjoy these important stories.

Daily Bible study is essential. The Bible Verse of the Day provides a collection of enlightening and inspiration bible verses. The favorite verses page is a list of popular bible verses. Each verse includes a link to the chapter and verse of the book where it is found in the bible. Click on any link for a bible verse and it will take you to that location in the bible.

NOTE: This flatpak of BibleTime runs in a confined filespace. It will not find your $HOME/.bibletime or $HOME/.sword directories. It will use the $HOME/.var/app/info.bibletime.BibleTime directory to find .bibletime and .sword. It is possible to move your current .bibletime and .sword to this directory and then make a symbolic link to $HOME/.bibletime and $HOME/.sword.

Using E-Sword on my PC. Will E-Sword let me create new windows and/or edit existing windows? Example: Create a new window and add to it a couple of commentaries, dictionary and a Bible translation for special projects)

When E-Sword is opened there are 4 default "windows" - Bibles, Dictionaries, Commentaries and Editors. The modules that have been downloaded are automatically distributed between 3 of these windows (exception is Editors).

2. I would like to be able to create a "New Window" that will allow me to add a couple of commentaries to it and a bible translation and maybe a dictionary of my choosing. I am thinking that this would be useful when doing a special study/project where I only need to access a few modules).

Essentially e-Sword is an SDI (Single Display Interface) program, in where the windows are static. That means, because the windows are SDI, you cannot have multiple windows. In order for you to have the ability to have mutliple window displayed, then e-Sword has to be created as an MDI (Mutliple Display Interface) program. With that said, I don't know of any Bible study software that are written as an MDI program.

I would like to be able to do a couple of things:

1. I would like to be able to edit the content of these default windows (Example: Remove a commentary from the Commentary window).

2. I would like to be able to create a "New Window" that will allow me to add a couple of commentaries to it and a bible translation and maybe a dictionary of my choosing. I am thinking that this would be useful when doing a special study/project where I only need to access a few modules).

I hope this communicates more clearly. :-)

You can control which commentaries appear in the Commentary Window (Options > Resource). You can do the same for the Bible and Dictionary windows (Options > Resource). You can also remove the Editor's window if you want (click the pin on the far right side of the Editors window panel).

I know what you are asking for on the new window and you can't do that. You can, however, customize e-Sword's main window.

It supports floating windows, and the focus can shift back and forth between the "Main" window and the "Floater" (which is a 'child' of the main window. This is a trait of an MDI application.). It will also allow multiple bible windows to open, and not just bible windows, but all books, etc.

Are we to believe the Israelites thought there were literal chambers full of manna up above the vault, somehow kept dry and stored alongside all the other bins next to, or within, the heavenly sea? Some solid sky proponents seem to believe so, because if the windows of heaven are literal, then the doors must be as well.16 Nonsense. This is clearly metaphorical language. ff782bc1db
