Hi @carrotmuseum @antikythera I think @BandOfBrothers was under the impression the issue was on a mobile device but pretty sure referring to TV. It would help if you provided your model number, unless older than 2014 should definitely be compatible with latest update. -cant-i-get-bbc-iplayer-on-my-samsung-smart-tv-sony-models-also-affect.... List of supported devices here and some go further back -devices/samsung

If compatible the one thing you the one you have not mentioned is rebooting the router by unplugging from mains , know other streaming services are ok but worth a try. is there any difference with Beta version? Troubleshooting guide here: obviously you may need to contact the BBC and /or Samsung though.

Hi @Drumragh the latest firmware for the Tv is 2303.1 which was released July 2022 and can be downloaded to USB if not available OTA. check iplayer is also up to date ,though it may well be on Auto Update. you may need to reinstall the iplayer app to see if that makes a difference. Another idea to to reboot router by unplugging from mains for a few minutes. could also see if using Beta version of iplayer is any sort of fix. Hi @g0akc It may be the Auto Power of which has caused the issue . If still problems Are you using the Beta version of iplayer or the standard version, you could check the other version to see if that makes any difference. Another idea would be a Factory Reset.

A brand new Q60C delivered 5 days ago. All apps installed and all seems fine. But BBC Iplayer not streaming, error 02103. Samsung support over the next 3 days checked everything, reser smart hub, router and reset all apps, still no luck. Samsung will escalate with BBC. BBC issued this statement July 4 -tv/crashing-samsung-tv but my tv is not on this list. Does anybody else have a similar issue? #bbciplayer

I had a message on BBC iplayer today saying that I needed to update software in order to keep using the services. I looked at the relevant thread on the help forum. I've reset and updated the TV software but it's still not loading tv shows. Can anyone give me any pointers? I have a UE40F5300

I found this on another community chat 'iplayer suddenly not working on UE22H5600 or UE485700' . I have tried it and it worked on mine. I did not have to do the second part. I am not sure why it has not been added to this thread. It was added about 3 hours ago. Whether it still works tomorrow is another matter. The message remains which is a bit concerning. Good luck to all!

Hi @jfbuk You have the latest software. Go to Home - Settings -Picture - Picture Size Settings - Zoom and Position to see if you can sort it out. If not see if you can reinstall iplayer, if still issues I would advise that you hold and press the power button for 5 seconds or until Tv reboots and/or unplug from the mains for around 5 minutes. Another idea is a factory reset.

@jfbuk Did not think adjusting picture settings would help, was more a process of elimination (even if no issue with other apps) Should have asked which version of iplayer you were using, hopefully no issue with the Beta version. This may be mainly affecting more recent models.

@Techpassesmeby is RGB Mode definitely switched off ? In colour space settings see if Auto makes a difference if on Native. If still issue also try and custom setting for all the different colours. see some information here -audio-video/what-is-the-color-space-setting/ -picture-settings-for-samsung-4k-tv-4776573

I am really struggling to watch iplayer on Samsung TV and also on Firestick plugged into the same. Buffering is relentless! The TV is linked to the router by a cable. I have got latest firmware and have tried a reset and unplugging numerous times. Download speed is 60MBPS on average. Buffering from hotspot on phone too.

Model is AU7100 43 TV

Thanks

By any chance do you have a number of devices connecting at the same time, just in case there are bandwidth issues, though realise this may not be the case. is it just iplayer you have the issue with, are other apps ok.

Would be good to finally have someone from Google explain what the hell they are doing as my front screen is littered like yours with bbc iplayer shows as we are Uk customers yet no app and Google appear to be the problem according to BBC would be nice if they finally have some sort of service to UK customers

I side loaded the iplayer apk yesterday and a few hours later they released the play store version. I think I'll look for, and side load, the All4 apk and you can all thank me when the official app is released later in the day.

I have a Samsung UE40ES8000 smart TV. Suddenly the iplayer, that starts up fine, will not let me select the episode from the available choices. When I get to this stage none of the arrows up or down or left to right work. I have checked tv for software and it is all up to date. I have also removed and reinstalled the iplayer but all to no avail. Bob

Did you get any further with this? I have just purchased a new samsung smart tv and also cannot download the bbciplayer app from the samsung app store in the smart hub. Am wondering if there is another way to download it and if anyone has tried it. I can use the browser to go to myiplayer.com and mypremium.tv (for skysports and espn) to get unofficial live streams (sound does not always work but that may be a browser and codec issue) and the pop ups are annoying but am not complaining too much. But, I would like to have the iplayer widget on the smart hub home screen.

Thanks ovbg, been away for a couple of weeks but tried the ff 289 rew and it worked a treat. after a reboot the tv came back with the uk app store and i now see bbc iplayer, netflix and love film in the top app list. Went on to the iplayer icon and was told i needed new firmware. Went to samsung and my model number was not listed in germany so I had to go to the austrian site. Firmware upgraded and iplayer now launches. Only problem I have now is getting around the geolocation issue. I am not sure if the geolocation comes from the ip address or the dns server address? I did change the dns server address but still got the issue but it maybe that i was using an international one so it would route me to the nearest location not necessarily the uk. if it is coming from the ip address I will have to see if i can add a uk proxy in the router settings unless you have any other suggestions. I know it will work - just need to find the right solution...

Still not found an alternative yet but I was reading some threads on other sites and somebody reckoned that the iplayer is not geoblocked with the IP address but with the country info of the actual TV. OK, i changed the internet location to UK to get the UK app store but they were saying there is also another hidden setting. I managed to access this hidden menu but the option they changed on a C and D series TV (INFO LINK COUNTRY) does appear on an E series set. The TV default region in this menu is set to PANEURO and cannot be changed. There is however an option called WIFI REGION and the setting is currently set to E (options are A-Z) but I have not been able to find any information anywhere on the web that tells me what E stands for and if it is country relative or not. However, my head still tells me that it is the actual IP address that is used for geo-blocking and not this information. Any luck getting your SmartDNS working? and is it VPNUK that you use?

OK, had a bit of time this weekend to try a few things out. I got in touch with VPNUK as they offer a SmartDNS service. I sent them an email requesting a trial and they said no problem and sent me their live chat link. So, i got in touch and they gave me a 24 hour trial. Basically logged on to my account, entered my IP address, waited a couple of minutes for it to be enabled on their database and then it gave me a DNS IP to enter into my Smart TV. Logged on to the iPlayer App and this time their was not Geoblocking but I encountered another issue. When I selected a video it just buffered until it timed out!!! Googled this and found it was a common problem also in the UK so it appears the SmartDNS worked but I cannot prove it yet. Anyway, I did everything suggested on various message boards: latest firmware from samsung.com, updated (reset) the Smart Hub, updated the iPlayer App and also (recommended on the samsung site) updated the browser app. Reboots of TV and modem (this caused a small issue as I got a new IP so i had to go back to my VPNUK account and register the new one) and also reset the TV date and time as that was mentioned by one person. I even tried a wired LAN as well as wireless but still the same message. My thinking now is that I need to wait for another firmware update as it sounds like the developers are testing it on different models at a time and then releasing new firmware. One issue I have is that my model is not sold in the UK (ue46es6530) so hope the firmware is the same as a similar model that you can get in the UK.

I can view bbc tv on iplayer out of uk on my pc but i cannot use my Samsung tablet. Any way around this problem?

I know bbc require using android greater than 4.1 which I do but still am not able to connect. Tablet was working on

november but not now. Will I have togive upon my tablet or just use my pc?

A chrome cast or firestick plugs into the side of your TV to essentially turn it into a smart TV. You can then broadcast whatever you're watching on your phone onto the TV. We do actually have an older Samsung smart TV but we had so many issues with it disconnecting from the Internet, apps crashing etc, that we only use the chromecast now. It's really simple to use. Very annoying that the older Samsung tvs no longer support iplayer though!

If your TV is on the list at www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/help/questions/recent-changes-to-iplayer/samsung-closure-2019 then you're out of luck. Well, Samsung say they're working on it for some models but it'll be next year.

Mine's not on the list but iPlayer stopped working today. It's a 2014 and also said it had the latest software.

Resetting the Smart Hub worked, iPlayer's now up and running again.

Easy to do: Press Menu, Select 'Smart Features', select 'Reset Smart Hub'.

Takes a while, and there's a worrying moment when you think the whole TV has been reset to factory defaults, but it all comes together fine. You do have to go find the iPlayer app and it re-downloads, then you have to re-do the BBC login thing. ff782bc1db
