When I take a picture I have to go into dropbox app in order for it to push my picture to dropbox. All my settings appear to be correct. It's been happening on my last 4 phones. I have pixel 10XL and latest android and app software. Thanks

You can automatically create a back up of key folders stored on your computer in your Dropbox account. After the initial backup, any changes you make to those folders or their contents will be automatically updated on your computer and your Dropbox folder.

I understand that Opalstack keeps daily, weekly and monthly backups which is amazing, but I also want to take my own backups and store them elsewhere. I currently use Dropbox (at the moment just for SQL dumps, but I would want to backup source code and media files in this way too), but I run an scp command (using Lingon to automate it) to copy from the Opalstack servers to the Dropbox folders on my local computer. This then syncs automatically, but obviously all this only works if my computer is running. I am looking for something that will be sure to run and sync.

So I have a dropbox business advanced account which comes with "unlimited" storage. The caveat though is they don't just give you unlimited amount, you get allocated so much storage and then increase as you need more.

It seems that the Auto increase is Buggy. Because I ran out of free storage several times and wasn't automatically increased.Wrote an email 12 hours ago and haven't gotten a reply yet.I think because it's the weekend. But when I asked for 100TB more storage, they only ever gave me 10 or 15TB.

Just to add my 2 cents, I paid for three license, and when I requested an increase for an initial transfer of 170TB, I was allocated 180TB. As for automatically increasing the limit, you could consider scripting it. The admin API should provide an endpoint to get the usage, and you could set up an automatic email to support for a limit increase when your remaining storage is down to the last few terabytes.

OK thanks for your Script but how do You contact Dropbox with that Info? Only write an Email to support@dropbox.com? I thought you can directly use an interface/API for the help. Alternatively for your script you can also simply use rclone about Dropbox: and it Output you the free Space left.

On Windows I've managed to disable Dropbox automatic updates because they were done by another application (DropboxUpdate.exe), but on Linux the same application that does the sync also download the updates, so I don't know how to prevent it from doing so.

Nevertheless, an answer in the dropbox forums lists one solutionthat involves a full reinstalled. I copy the answer below (without testing).Note that such methods, if they work, may stop working in the future.

Note: Please be sure to make a note or take a screenshot of any Selective Sync settings you may have applied as well as the location of your Dropbox folder (if not in the default location) prior to re-installing, as you will need to match these settings upon re-install. If you're using a headless version of Dropbox you can access the list of Selective Sync folders by running "dropbox exclude".

Everytime I start Dropbox (in Precise) it gets added to the autostart list even if I deleted the entry before. I don't want Dropbox to be started when I log in only when I want it to.How to prevent Dropbox to be automatically added to the autostart list?

By default, dropbox will start automatically at login. The update-rc.d command is not concerned here. (/etc/rc*.d/directories don't contain dropbox). There is no service "dropbox" (/etc/init.d don't contain dropbox)

The objective of this tutorial is to demonstrate the steps to be performed in Dropbox for Business and Microsoft Entra ID to configure Microsoft Entra ID to automatically provision and de-provision users and/or groups to Dropbox for Business.

Before configuring Dropbox for Business for automatic user provisioning with Microsoft Entra ID, you need to add Dropbox for Business from the Microsoft Entra application gallery to your list of managed SaaS applications.

Microsoft Entra ID uses a concept called assignments to determine which users should receive access to selected apps. In the context of automatic user provisioning, only the users and/or groups that have been assigned to an application in Microsoft Entra ID are synchronized.

Before configuring and enabling automatic user provisioning, you should decide which users and/or groups in Microsoft Entra ID need access to Dropbox for Business. Once decided, you can assign these users and/or groups to Dropbox for Business by following the instructions here:

You may also choose to enable SAML-based single sign-on for Dropbox for Business, following the instructions provided in the Dropbox for Business single sign-on tutorial. Single sign-on can be configured independently of automatic user provisioning, though these two features compliment each other.

I researched other stackoverflow posts related to this problem, but they would not work in my circumstance. Both scripts work great but I would like to see if its possible to alter the script to specify a destination folder within dropbox.

When you use the dropbox_uploader.sh script you specify the folder to save the file to on the Dropbox account. However, that is limited to whatever settings you gave the "app" in the Dropbox settings to get your access token. You can set it to allow reading/writing anyplace in your Dropbox account or only in a specific folder.

I need to switch between dropbox account but it is auto logging in when I click on drop box instead of giving me an option to choose account to log into. How do I add a second dropbox account or prevent it from automatically logging me in when I choose the dropbox option after I have logged out

Okay after working with support it appears that the app is tied to the chrome browser in the phone. I cleared the cache in the browser, logged into appsheet.com in the browser, then when I chose to log into dropbox the app on the phone it went to he account I was trying to log into. I have multiple dropbox accounts. The app does not give you an option to switch in the app between dropbox accounts. You have to sign out in the app. Open the browser and log out of appsheet.com and log back in on the other account in browser. Then the app will open to the other account. What a PITA. Seems like a bug to me

After you've set up Dropbox on your computer, you can back up any file, (including your Quicken backups), by placing it in the Dropbox folder. All files in your Dropbox folder are automatically backed up to Dropbox every time a file is added or changed.

If you want to retain all your existing, automatic backups in Dropbox, move your existing "Automatic Backups" folder to the new Dropbox directory you created in step 1 above. Just make sure it's called "Automatic Backups". However, note that in step 3c above, you should still select the "Quicken Backup Files" (not the "Automatic Backups" folder).

Purchase entitles you to Quicken for the term of your membership (depending upon length of membership purchased), starting at purchase. Full payment is charged to your card immediately. At the end of the membership period, membership will automatically renew every year and you will be charged the then-current price (prices subject to change). You may cancel before renewal date. For full details, consult the Quicken Membership Agreement. You can manage your subscription at your My Account page.

In the small test setup that I made with an empty database, when I add a very big file on the desktop computer, it triggers the slow Dropbox sync and, during that long time, the laptop regularly tries to do a direct sync (automatic setting) but says that the remote (desktop) database is busy.

Our acquistion workflow currently gets the images to the NAS filesystem, so the easiest workflow would be a server-side process that automatically imported while keeping the images in the same NAS filesystem. The NAS is connected to the OMERO server via 2x 10Gb connections in an LACP bond.

You can access your cloud storage with Dropbox on your phone using the Dropbox app as long as your phone is connected to Wi-Fi. You can also access cloud storage via a Windows, Mac or Linux operating systems one of two ways: either through the web on dropbox.com or with our desktop app. You just need to make sure your device is connected to the internet to upload and access your files.

When you turn on computer backup, files on your PC or Mac are continuously backed up to the cloud. Any changes made in synced folders are automatically updated in your Dropbox account and on your hard drive.

I am trying to install dropbox automatically in my server auto-install script so when I spawn a new VPS instance I'm able to have dropbox installed and have the credentials already inputed via the auto-install script for my VPS instance.

I know dropbox daemon dropboxd, stores profile/credential information in ~/.dropbox, however I've tried zipping/taring the folder and all its contents but it never worked when I would remove the .dropbox folder then unzip or untar the saved profile. When running dropboxd it would say the first-time-install message of 'This computer isn't linked to any Dropbox account...Please visit _link?host_id=...'

Also a note: I have tried dropbox uploader scripts but they don't have the sync feature where they can watch for changes in the background which I need for easy updates. trying to avoid setting up a messy cronjob when I can just use the dropbox daemon that was built for syncing. ff782bc1db
