Once you have checked out and opened up an audiobook in Libby, you will see the cover image along with a variety of icons that allow you to fine-tune your listening experience. Check out the diagram (see screenshot #2, above) to see how each of these icons and menus functions:
If you happened to miss a plot point or get stuck in a seemingly never-ending patch of prose, you have the handy option to go back or skip ahead 15 seconds. You can also navigate to different parts of the audiobook by using the finger pointing icon in the bottom left of the player to jump to your last position. Use the fingerprint icon in the bottom right of the player to see a list of your recent places in the title and choose another location you've visited.
I'm having the same issue. There's no way to bookmark where you left off on library audio books. Please add this feature as it's greatly needed. I miss parts of each book because I constantly have to guess where I was with the slider.
Steps: Play the audio book through Libby, on an AirPlay device, as usual. I use an iPad. Swipe down and leftish from top right of screen, select AirPlay (triangle with lines above). My networked airplay Sonos speakers are available. Select at least one.

Libby is the most current app released by OverDrive. It has a clean intuitive interface, and it is easy to access materials purchased by the Loyola University of Chicago Libraries as well as by your local library.Â
Libby is an innovative in-browser and mobile app from OverDrive designed to make borrowing and enjoying e-books, magazines, streaming services and audiobooks from the library easier than ever. Libby is available on your browser and for Android and iOS devices.
The OverDrive app was discontinued in May 2023. The OverDrive desktop interface is still available. You may continue to use this interface to browse and check out, place holds, manage your account, and download mp3 audio files. Suggestions for purchase must now be made in Libby using the "Notify Me" function.

1. Download titles from Overdrive to Kindle
You can borrow Kindle Books from the UMN Libraries OverDrive website, then read them on Kindle devices or Kindle reading apps. Learn more on how to set this up.
UMN students can sign up for a library card from Hennepin County Library (Minneapolis campus) or Ramsey County Library (St. Paul campus) or other public libraries. Libraries in the metro area are part of MELSA (the eight member library systems are the counties of Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington, along with the St. Paul Public Library). After you sign up, you can access more ebooks using the MELSA Overdrive at For example, the MELSA Overdrive account has 170,000 ebooks, 32,000 audiobooks and 3,500 magazines). You can use the MELSA and the UMN Overdrive accounts with each other.

Ebooks Minnesota is an online ebook collection for all Minnesotans. The collection covers a wide variety of subjects, both fiction and non-fiction, for readers of all ages, and includes over 10,000 titles! View list of titles and start reading.
Libby (previously OverDrive) provides access to a wide selection of e-books, audiobooks and magazines. Choose from thousands of titles that you can borrow for free with your PINES card.
Click "Add a library," and search for "Piedmont Virginia Community College." Select it, and then select "Virginia Community College System." The app will prompt you to sign in with your myPVCC credentials. Our library is now added to your app.
Find an audiobook. Select the cover, and then select "Borrow." If prompted, sign in with your myPVCC credentials. (Note: If an audiobook is already checked out by someone else, you can also select "Place a Hold" and it will be checked out when the other person's checkout period is over. You'll receive an email when it's available for you.)
The Libby app will automatically download your audiobook if you're connected to WiFi, and it will pause downloading the audiobook when your device is connected to mobile data . This will prevent you from using your data when you listen to it on the go! The audiobook will be active for the amount of time you chose, at which time it will deactivate automatically and "return" to Libby. You can either renew it before then or download it again once it expires (as long as no one else has placed it on hold).

You can choose to continue with Libby or use Kindle for eBooks. Some devices (like the Kobo) can be used by downloading an epub version and using Adobe Digital Editions to transfer the book to your device.
Your loans, holds, and tags are together on your "Shelf." Tap on the books icon at the bottom of the page to see what you have checked out, your holds, and anything you've tagged.
