According to the official statement, 5,335 appointment letters were distributed for posts in Home Department, 27 in Higher Education and Technical department, 3811 in the School Education Department,277 in the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, 299 in the Health and Family Welfare Department while rest of the posts were filled in several other departments.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter to share the news, he wrote, "As part of our commitment to provide Govt jobs to 1 lakh youth in our State, distributed appointment letters to 11,236 recruits in 24 depts. We carried out the entire recruitment process purely on merit and in a transparent manner. My best wishes to all new appointees!"

The Government of Assam on Friday distributed appointment letters to 11,236 recruits in 24 department. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma distributed the appointment letters in a ceremonial event which has organized in the Khanapara Veterinary field at Guwahati. Talking to the general public, Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma said that recruitment process for filling up 26,000 Class III & IV posts has already started and advertisement for 10,000 more posts will be published soon & steps will be taken for self-employment of 2 lakh youth.

"Happy to distribute appointment letters to 1,208 selected candidates for Health & Family Welfare and Home & Political departments at Sankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati. With 41,710 appointments so far, we are marching towards our goal of providing 1 lakh Govt jobs," Sarma tweeted later.

"We are hopeful that by the next two months, we will be able to give appointments to all the families, Sarma said as appointment letters to 72 such candidates were given at the function," the CM added.

The BJP-led Assam government today distributed appointment letters to almost 23000 youths who have been recruited in various departments of the state govt. A mega ceremonial appointment letter distribution program was organised at Khanapara in Guwahati, where chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma handed over the much sought after appointment letters to a few of the new state govt employees.

GUWAHATI: Around 50,000 youths of the state will get government jobs in a mega appointment letter distribution ceremony slated for May. It will be part of the one lakh jobs promised by the BJP in the run-up to the last assembly election in the state.

According to sources in the State Government, the appointment letter distribution will tentatively be on May 11 in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The appointment letter distribution ceremony will serve two purposes: fulfilling the election promise of the ruling party and marking the completion of two years of the State Government led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Since the appointments will also include associate professors of colleges, the Directorate of Higher Education has asked all colleges to send their proposals for appointments to it by April 24, 2023. It will be the last appointment of college teachers and non-teaching staff based on recommendations from the college governing bodies. After this, a separate recruitment board will select college teachers and other staff members of colleges.

Guwahati : The Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal presented appointment letter to ace athlete Hima Das in the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police in Assam Police under the Integrated Sports Policy of the Assam Government in a programme held at Sarusajai Sports Complex in Guwahati today.

The Chief Minister further said that though appointment in government service is a regular process, certain recruitments exemplify ethical values and inspire the society and the people in the administration to follow the path of righteousness. He termed the latest recruitment of sub-inspectors in Assam Police as an example of truthfulness, sincerity and coordinated efforts which testified the capabilities of the police force to fight against challenges setting new benchmark for transparency. That is why the Assam government appointed sprinter Hima Das as DSP in Assam Police who made the state proud with her achievements in national and international sports, he said. The Chief Minister also observed that appointment of Hima Das would inspire the youth to devote more sincerely in the field of sports. Chief Minister Sonowal also urged the new sub-inspectors to maintain the dignity of the police force and perform their duties without any bias to any section of the society. He asked them to work with integrity to protect the life and properties of people without any fear and favour.
