Why? Cost and complexity, mostly. Not surprisingly, open flames in a building filled with the dining public sends shivers up the spines of health and building inspectors. Regulations require a significant investment in fire suppression and smoke evacuation equipment for real-deal live fire operations.

Here, Sambrooks combines an arsenal of live-fire, Spanish and Japanese-made grill equipment with fuels like wood and charcoal to produce a menu in which almost every item is more-or-less touched by flame or smoke.

JURISTIC PERSON, where do you get your stats? The majority of people I know that are building and living in tiny homes are liberal/green party types. I know of NO conservatives that are willing to give up their big homes, big trucks and consumer lifestyle to do what it takes to live in a tiny home.

I am conservative and we, my husband and I, live in a 280 sq. foot home. Grew up in a two bedroom house with 12 siblings and 2 parents. You learn what is necessary to have and what is luxury. We have a bedroom, bathroom, combination kitchen/living room.

i live in a hole in a wall apartment, which might as well be considered such. it would be too much for you. you would lose your shit at the cockroaches breeding in the walls. they come from my neighbor who hoards god knows what and 3 dogs and place the size of mine

LIGHTEN UP STEVEN! lauren is obviously making fun of elitist hipster types that choose to build these things and celebrate them as being cool. no one is making fun of indian families 8 strong that live in a bedroom shack. mummy

My home by contrast is where I cook, rehearse music and dance, sew and craft, care for my pets, and entertain family and friends. I store my bike here, my camping equipment here, my plates, utensils and cookwear live here. I store food in a fridge, I have a television and stereo I enjoy watching and listening to. I keep all my clothes and shoes, for work and play, here (not just a bikini and some sandals for the beach). I also work from home, so my computer and printer, scanner, my office supplies, my stapler.

I encourage the cultural shift in necessity, but think society would be best served by offering them to the homeless folks mentioned in your footnote. The disparity between those who choose to live with less and the rest, is akin to the person who sleeps outside and called homeless, and the person who owns a home and does the same, yet is named an outdoorsman.

This was amazing. I love you! Yep. I always thought, I could go smaller, but 350 with my daughter and dog and especially no south facing windows and a tiny fridge with no freezer for ice cream made me want to go bigger. We now live in 680 and with 8 foot ceilings, south facing windows and is perfect! I just loved your writing!

I used to live in a tiny little one-bedroom apartment. It was not a studio, but rather a 400 sf apartment with a separate bedroom, a little bathroom (away from the kitchen), lots of light, cross-ventilation and non-cable TV. It was less than a block from the bar. I would sit in there, smoke grass, have people over and I got laid alot. I loved that place.

Yet even though we had 9 people sleeping per room, we still lived well. I think it is amazing how Americans can be so passionate about having large empty houses all to themselves, when they have never faced any real hardship in their lives.

Ha. My wife and I lived full time for 5 years in a 300 sqf motor home. We had plenty of room for everything we needed, including a queen sized bed where we had lots and lots of sex: sex overlooking the Grand Canyon; sex surrounded by Oregon vineyards; sex beneath California redwoods, and on and on.

My 19 year old son is building a tiny house. We live in No. Cal where real estate prices and rents are extremely high. So a tiny house is a wonderful alternative for a young person who would like all the amenities of the nice place that we live without insane rents. He would much rather live in his own house than in some crappy apartment with a half dozen roommates.

I live in an un-hip, never to to be written in a glossy magazine or 3 episode tv series, *small* house (867 sq ft), no debt, composting, and when needed drive my boxes of used glass to be recycled in a 17 year old truck. Am I hipstier than thou? Hardly. But living with less, to me, is ultimately rewarding than living with more.

As I get older, I enjoy more space for hobbies and office. I currently live in a 5200 sq ft house with my wife and no children. I do, however, own a tiny house that sits in the back on my property, I keep the lawnmower in it.

If you want to add further dimension to your cake (this would be especially good if you are using this technique with a single-color cake), add candy! The white and gold pearls in this white/gold Wilton sprinkles set I had on hand felt like the perfect fancy touch. Again, you just need to add the sporadically! Below is a close up so you can see the pearls and then a shot so you can see the final product, with Cadbury mini eggs!

For the past year and a half, many of us wondered when we would find ourselves in a live music venue again; when we would have a chance to dance again. For me, that question was answered as I found myself in East Nashville in mid-August, eagerly awaiting a performance by queer singer-songwriter Fancy Hagood.

Hi everyone, so I've been quite active on the forums as I feel its needed! Item info is hard to find. Basically I'm after a fancy rod and I can't find for the life of me how to get it so all help is welcome.

Trevor Ariza from the NBA Houston Rockets tied the knot this past summer and every detail was on point just like his game! Below is a painting that a live event painter got to capture during their wedding ceremony held at Monarch Beach Resort, how amazing is this?

"[Buffett and I] are both smart enough to have watched our friends who got rich build these really fancy houses," Munger said. "And I would say in practically every case, they make the person less happy, not happier."

Another drawback to owning a mega-mansion, he added: Such an ostentatious display of wealth could spoil his kids by encouraging them to "live grandly." Munger had nine children across two marriages, including two step-sons and a son who died of leukemia at age 9.

"[Buffett and I] both considered bigger and better houses," Munger said. "I had a huge number of children, so it was justifiable even. And I still decided not to live a life where I look like the Duke of Westchester or something. And I was going to avoid it. I did it on purpose ... I didn't think it would be good for the children."

As Munger alluded to, Buffett lives similarly: The 93-year-old billionaire bought his house in Omaha, Nebraska, for $31,500 in 1958, and has lived there ever since. Buffett's quality of life would "be worse if [he] had six or eight houses," he reportedly said at Berkshire Hathaway's 2014 shareholder meeting.

The fancy rat (Rattus norvegicus domestica) is the domesticated form of Rattus norvegicus, the brown rat,[1] and the most common species of rat kept as a pet. The name fancy rat derives from the use of the adjective fancy for a hobby, also seen in "animal fancy", a hobby involving the appreciation, promotion, or breeding of pet or domestic animals. The offspring of wild-caught specimens, having become docile after having been bred for many generations, fall under the fancy type.

Fancy rats were originally targets for blood sport in 18th- and 19th-century Europe. Later bred as pets, they now come in a wide variety of coat colors and patterns, and are bred and raised by several rat enthusiast groups around the world. They are sold in pet stores and by breeders. Fancy rats are generally quite affordable, even compared to other small pets; this is one of their biggest draws. Additionally, they are quite independent, affectionate, loyal and easily trained. They are considered more intelligent than other domesticated rodents. Healthy fancy rats typically live 2 to 3 years, but are capable of living a year or so longer.

The origin of the modern fancy rat begins with the rat-catchers of the 18th and 19th centuries who trapped rats throughout Europe.[1] These rat-catchers would then either kill the rats, or, more likely, sell the rats to be used in blood sport.[5] Rat-baiting was a popular sport until the beginning of the 20th century. It involved filling a pit with several rats and then placing bets on how long it would take a terrier to kill them all. It is believed that both rat-catchers and sportsmen began to keep certain, odd-colored rats during the height of the sport, eventually breeding them and then selling them as pets.[1][6] The two men thought to have formed the basis of rat fancy are Jack Black, self-proclaimed rat-catcher to Queen Victoria, and Jimmy Shaw, manager of one of the largest sporting public houses in London. These two men are responsible for beginning many of the color varieties present today.[1][7] Black, specifically, was known for taming the "prettier" rats of unusual color, decorating them with ribbons, and selling them as pets. e24fc04721
