Track construction will be taking place at the Grayland station, Rondout, and the Everett crosssing has been extended through June, 2024. Trains may incur delays enroute up to 15 minutes behind schedule passing through the work zone until the work is complete. Please listen to announcements for any platform changes. Beginning Tuesday, October 24, staton repairs will be taking place at the West Chicago Metra station. Work is scheduled for Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM until the end of December 2023. Access to the parking lot and station platform will be maintained at all time, however access to the inside of the station could be limited at times. Please allow additional time traveling to the station and exercise caution near the work zone.

Please allow additional time if using shuttles to travel between the terminal, parking lots and rail station as shuttle delays are possible. Travelers should plan to arrive at the terminal 2 hours before scheduled domestic departure.

Make sure your camera and/or mobile devices are charged and ready, as photos with Santa are back! For the first time since 2019, riders and fans of the Allstate CTA Holiday Fleet will be able to partake in photo sessions with Santa on designated dates for both the festive bus and train (see schedules for more details).

NOTE: Every effort is made to accommodate those lined-up for photos; however, there is a firm-cut-off time to ensure the Allstate CTA Holiday Bus/Train depart and remain on schedule. See on-site staff for more information.

Because of the current temporary closure of the Yellow Line, the Holiday Train will not run on December 21 as originally scheduled. We apologize for the inconvenience and invite customers to consider visiting the Holiday Train on another route on the dates listed above.

We strongly encourage you to use the holiday bus tracker to track the whereabouts of Ralphie and Santa along the scheduled route. This information will only be available while the bus is in service on the dates and times listed below.

The changes, part of a High-Speed Rail project touted by Illinois Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin, means that passengers will see their travel time reduced by as much as 30 minutes. As a result, some scheduled departure and arrival times may have changed.

The 11:30 AM train rides include the opportunity to stop at the First Mile Stable. With the inclusion of this stop, the train ride is 40 minutes roundtrip. This stop is a working mounted unit, therefore schedules can change day of without notice. Please check with admissions staff on the day of your visit.

Service varies depending on location. Local taxis will often meet trains at scheduled Amtrak stops. To ensure availability of a taxi upon arrival, research options at your destination & arrange your ride in advance, if possible. ff782bc1db
