The album is the first record since 1988's New Jersey not to feature bonus tracks (all the subsequent albums from 1992's Keep The Faith through to 2007's Lost Highway have included songs not available in the United States). Lead singer Jon Bon Jovi has stated that there were one or two songs that he left off the album that could have been bonus tracks which he wanted to keep for the Greatest Hits album.[citation needed]

The Circle debuted at the number-one position with sales of around 67,000 copies on the Japanese Oricon weekly album charts, becoming their fifth number-one album on the Japanese chart. Because of the album's number-one debut, Bon Jovi tied the Oricon charts' record for having five number-one albums as a Western artist, which was held by Mariah Carey and Simon & Garfunkel.[13]

Burning Bridges is the thirteenth studio album by American rock band Bon Jovi consisting of new songs, as well as formerly unreleased and unfinished songs. Released on August 21, 2015 by Mercury Records.[1][2] Produced by John Shanks, it was the first release since the departure of former guitarist Richie Sambora in 2013[3] (although he receives a co-writing credit on the single "Saturday Night Gave Me Sunday Morning"),[4] with Shanks handling the lead guitar parts. Burning Bridges is their last album to be released through Mercury, marking the end of their 32-year relationship with the label. According to Jon Bon Jovi, the album serves as a "fan record" to tie in with an accompanying international tour: "It's songs that weren't finished, that were finished, a couple of new ones like the one we released as a single 'We Don't Run'."[5] Burning Bridges was followed by This House Is Not for Sale, the band's fourteenth studio album released in 2016 which featured all new songs.[6]

Burning Bridges is the first album without guitarist Richie Sambora who left the band in 2013.It is also the first album in 29 years to not feature a credit by Desmond Child, who has co-written or produced at least one song on every Bon Jovi album since 1986's Slippery When Wet.

The album debuted at No. 13 on Billboard,[16] and No. 3 on Rock Albums on its release,[17] selling 19,000 copies in the first week. The album has sold 67,000 copies in the United States as of August 2016.[18]

The album features twin lead singles, "We Don't Run" and "Saturday Night Gave Me Sunday Morning", both released on July 31, 2015. Saturday Night Gave Me Sunday Morning premiered on Hitradio 3 on July 17, 2015. at 9:45 a.m.[19] Originally written in The Circle sessions, it was finished for this album. Three days later, on July 20, 2015, Brazilian radio station "Radio Rock" premiered "We Don't Run".[20] Though not released as singles, the songs "Blind Love" and "A Teardrop to the Sea" were digitally released on August 7, 2015, followed by "I'm Your Man" on August 13, 2015. Lyrics videos for all the songs have been released on Bon Jovi's YouTube account.[21]

A "Throwback Thursday" first! This time lapse video shows me and my New York Academy of Art pals working with artist Liu Bolin to execute his vision for Bon Jovi's What About Now album cover. Thanks to my awesome artist buddy Elizabeth Misitano of Klein Sun Gallery, Emily Slapin Lufkin, Nicolas V. Sanchez, Dave Wagner, Mitchell Martinez, Tina Ryan-Kleid, Mei Ge, Sarah Crumlich and I had a blast camouflaging the Bon Jovi band members into the background design using a little acrylic paint and a lot of color-matching skills. Tina and I teamed up to make drummer Tico Torres "disappear" into the background... See if you can spot him in the finished album cover below!

Ive made a Bon Jovi album ranking video worst to first of their discography from 1984 - 2009. I know a full discography ranking would be better, but i havent listened to their 4 most recent albums, so i just decided to omit them. These 4 albums though seem to unanimously be placed at the bottom on everyone elses album rankings, so im only omitting 4 of their poorest albums. I also made an error in my video by dating the Crush album as 2007. I know it was released in 2000.

Twenty-five years ago, BON JOVI, their 6th studio album These Days with Tim Collins as a producer, was released, The album featured the debut of bassist Hugh McDonald. Alec Jon Such fired the year before.

I was 16 years old when this album came out. As a teenager in those days, music was the best friend and best escapism. If you go through what teens go through you, the music helps you get through tough times. I always read the lyrics. I love the songwriting team of Jon Bon Jovi/Richie Sambora; As a fan, I hope that Jon, Richie, and Desmond get together again to write songs. What makes These Days a great album is the songs from start to finish.

The very idea of Bon Jovi recording a critically-acclaimed, country-flavored album might initially seem fanciful on paper. However, the legendary New Jersey rockers pulled this daring stylistic coup off when they decamped to Nashville to capture the Grammy-nominated Lost Highway.

Bon Jovi returned to their hallmark rock sound with their next album, their 2009 Mercury Records swansong, The Circle. However, the New Jersey icons remain proud of Lost Highway and still recognize its creation as one of their high-water marks.

At 88,55 million, total studio album sales of Bon Jovi are very healthy. Obviously, just like U2 or Madonna, they got lucky to get their hey-days during the best years of the music industry, also constantly getting heavy promotion giving their strong appeal.

If we check breakdowns of all albums we start understanding why the band belongs more to entertainers category than singer-songwriters, more to pop stars than classic rock bands. Although this latter group of artists accumulated significant sales in Japan for example thanks to decades of catalog appeal, they never got truly massive. Bon Jovi did the same as ABBA or Michael Jackson there, getting incredibly big at some point, even selling at retail an unreal 379,000 units of These Days in its first week there, an all-time record up to that point. That album shows an impressive 7,6 million sales worldwide despite a mere 1 million units moved in the US.

Their blockbuster album clearly remains Slippery When Wet though. Up to 23,6 million units sold, it was on 13 million by the end of 1988 with 9 million of them coming from the US alone. During the 90s, as they penetrated strongly more and more markets they lost a large chunk of their popularity in their native market.

Below table lists Spotify streaming of all songs from the five albums we are studying. The Comprehensive Streaming is reached by multiplying Spotify figures by 68/26. In fact, as shown in IFPI 2015 Report, there were 68 million paying subscribers to all streaming platforms by the end of 2015. While the exact count of Spotify paying subscribers by the end of 2015 is unknown, that figure reached 20 million in June 2015 and 30 million in March 2016, thus an estimated 26 million is used as of the end of 2015.

Still, despite the lack of consistency of their albums, the strength of their hits are enough to grant almost half a million album equivalent sales to Slippery When Wet. New Jersey has a similar pattern at a lower level. The various tracks with very low numbers at the end are songs added to the 2014 extended edition of the album.

As previously seen, Keep The Faith and These Days were still healthy album sellers. In the streaming era though, only Bed Of Roses is holding strong. At 34 million streams, the song easily overshadows over Bon Jovi hits from the 90s, indeed that song has exactly the same plays as all other tracks from those two albums combined. Overall, both records perform rather poorly in this segment. e24fc04721
