Currently, we facilitate the process by providing classes and exams at our Driver Centre. However, drivers would need to apply for a PSV license and e-hailing permits through relevant external parties themselves.

Independent drivers work on a part-time basis and have the flexibility to choose their preferred working hours. On the other hand, full-time drivers exclusively drive for airasia ride and enjoy the benefits of being an Allstar employee.

This is the first time that has happened to me , I don't use grab often. The driver said the previous passenger dropped their key in his car and he has to go and return the key. Fine. But the problem is why isn't he canceling the ride himself ? I told him to cancel the ride himself he said 'ok'. After 10mins of waiting for him to cancel, I couldn't wait no longer, I am in hurry, i cancelled it myself and book for another ride.

A colleague also told me she had encountered this before, she booked and took the ride on the car, halfway through the ride, driver says his car tyre 'puncture', then asks my colleague to cancel the ride. So my colleague got off the car and cancelled the ride, after that the driver and his car magically disappeared.

So far, I have had more pleasant experiences with Air Asia Ride. The pricing of both is what tipped the scale for me to choose Air Asia Ride as my first option. The only con was I had to book a ride earlier since it took longer to find a driver. I only opt for Grab when I am in a rush. Hopefully, Grab could monitor and help Grab drivers to improve their vehicle conditions in the coming future.

In summary, based on my personal experiences and preferences, I find AirAsia Ride to be my preferred choice between Grab and AirAsia Ride. The affordable pricing offered by AirAsia Ride and its seamless integration with the AirAsia ecosystem have been key factors in my decision. While I still opt for Grab when I am in a rush, my overall experiences with AirAsia Ride have been more pleasant. However, I acknowledge that individual preferences may vary, and it is important for readers to consider their own needs and priorities when choosing between the two services. It is recommended to try both options and assess which aligns better with individual requirements. Ultimately, the continuous improvement of both Grab and AirAsia Ride will benefit all users, and it is hoped that future enhancements will address concerns such as improving Grab drivers' vehicle conditions. Let's keep an open mind, explore different options, and share our experiences to contribute to a better understanding of the e-hailing landscape in Malaysia.

Airasia Ride will also provide exclusive benefits worth up to RM400 to first-time female drivers who join the company without prior e-hailing experience or an e-hailing license, such as fee exemptions for PSV learning courses and exams and free medical check-ups. AirAsia has announced that it will be providing full-time employment to AirAsia Ride drivers starting 1 October. The move will see its 53,000 drivers have the option to choose between remaining an e-hailing gig worker or becoming a full-fledged AirAsia employee, with the latter coming with a base salary and benefits.

For starters, AirAsia Ride drivers will be receiving a basic wage of RM3,500 per month including fuel benefits, but the company claims that the drivers can earn up to RM8,000 per month with incentives, depending on their performance. To fuel their earnings, full-time drivers will get priority for airport job assignments, which can be lucrative as oversea travels have begun to pick up.

AirAsia Ride was established just a little over a year ago when it acquired local e-hailing firm Dacsee. Within that year, the company claims that the service has completed over two million rides and it is currently available in 11 areas across Malaysia, with the latest addition to the list being Kota Kinabalu. Those interested in becoming full-time drivers with the company can sign up here.

The airasia Super App is pushing the ride-hailing service industry to the next level by announcing a full employment option for drivers of its e-hailing arm -- airasia ride -- to attract them to the platform.

Regarding the full employment offer for drivers, Tony Fernandes, chief executive of Capital A, said this is the firm's strategy to attract and retain drivers while meeting the surge in demand for e-hailing.

"We became the first in the region to offer independent delivery riders a full-time job, and today we commemorate airasia ride's first year in operations by announcing an offer to all qualified airasia ride drivers of full-time employment," said Mr Fernandes.

"Any independent drivers can opt to become a contract driver or be a full-time Allstar Ride Hailing driver with better income, and grow into corporate roles at airasia ride, including being a fleet manager, driver coach, or operations executive," he said.

Launched in August last year, airasia ride now has 53,000 registered drivers and has completed two million rides to date. It is now operating in Malaysia and Thailand and planning to expand its reach to Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Lim Chiew Shan, regional chief executive for airasia ride, said its ride hailing services with private cars will be provided in Thailand in October. Its taxi services in Thailand have been operating since the end of May and there are now 3,000 drivers.

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 13): airasia Super App is offering a full-time employment programme for drivers of its e-hailing arm, airasia Ride, a month after a similar offer was made to airasia food and airasia xpress delivery riders.

It said that effective from Oct 1, qualified drivers in existing programmes, as well as new drivers, will be able to opt for the full-time drivers programme, which will enable them to have a monthly base income of up to RM3,500 including fuel benefits, and the opportunity to earn a total income of up to RM8,000.

Full-time drivers will also be given priority airport job assignments to enable them to earn more from airport pickups and drop-offs as travel demand continues to ramp up across the region, the statement said.
