Rihanna as Nine Ball is a technical genius whose real name is Leslie. Her nickname refers to the fact that she uses a Nine Ball in her trackball mouse. The grey ball in the Expert trackball has been replaced with a 9 pool ball with yellow stripe.

Kensington has now, for fun and as a test, created two balls, 8 and 9-ball, based on their large ball for the Expert Wireless. They sent me, as a Kensington Brand Ambassador, the set as a Happy Holidays gift this year (thank you, Kensington!).

The old Kensington trackball mice used to work great with an actual pool ball. I had two of them and used them for years. The weight of the ball made the movements smooth and felt great. However, Kensington changed the size and they will not fit now.

Even better, since this is tech from the 80s, the interface is really simple; just 2 rotary encoders (of the optical slit-disc variety), one for each movement axis, connected to rollers that the ball sits on. With an Arduino they are exceptionally easy to read, especially using the Encoder library from Paul Stoggregen of Teensy fame. The library simply outputs a -1, 0, or 1 on each poll, indicating if it moved since last check and which direction. Combine two of those and you can move a mouse pointer in X and Y directions.

So now I had the trackball and at this point I was down the hole of an Arcade / Billiard themed mouse, so I decided it was best to just go all in and use 24mm arcade buttons as well. I found these great buttons over on Adafruit so I picked up a few of each color.

At this point the big hurdle was designing the mouse itself, which of course fell to Fusion 360. The main issues were getting everything to fit and to be as ergonomic as possible. With Fusion it was relatively easy to get the basics by taking a top-down picture of my own hand over the trackball assembly. That image was than overlaid in the CAD model as a canvas and calibrated to the correct size via the CAD model I had already made of the trackball. This allowed finding the correct placement of the 3 main mouse buttons under each finger. Note to those who may want to make their own: Small hands need not apply. This is very much designed for me.

The two non-standard buttons that you may be wondering about are the two clear ones. The one at the top is the the sensitivity toggle. Because this is an arcade trackball the ball has to move farther than is really desirable for each pulse sent from the encoder. So to make the mouse more usable, I simply multiply the output of the encoder so that one pulse actually moves the mouse four pixels in the given direction. But this can make the mouse less precise. So toggling that button drops the multiplier down to two instead of four, making for slower movement but much more precise tracking.

Children learn through play is a given. Children learn a lot through the simplest toys. It is arevelation for all of us. One such very simple product is the Tunnel Ball pool. Our Expert Mom Niyati shares her journey with this product and how her daughter Naina found various ways to learn from it.

Niyati says: I bought something like this without the hexagonal pool with balls when Naina was 10 months old. She had just started crawling and I felt that it was an important step developmentally for her and wanted to encourage it."

Straight pool, also known as 14.1 continuous pool, is a pocket billiards game. The objective is simple: pot as many balls as possible to score points. Players take turns to pocket any ball on the table, aiming to reach a predetermined target score.

Start by racking the balls in a triangular pattern, with the apex ball on the foot spot. The 1-ball rests at the front, while other balls are placed randomly. Your break will determine your first shot and subsequent control of the table.

Each pocketed ball earns you a point. After potting a ball, you continue your turn as long as you can sink the next ball. The game continues until a player reaches the target score or decides to conclude the game.

Strategically choose balls to pocket and plan ahead for positioning your cue ball. Utilize combinations, caroms, and clusters to your advantage, setting up for your next shots while denying your opponent opportunities.

Positional play is key to straight pool success. After each shot, ensure your cue ball is well-placed for the next one. Master the art of control, spin, and angle calculation to navigate the table with precision.

The 8-Ball Pool is among the most played online games out there, and it gets even more thrilling if players win money. A skill-based game is challenging and requires players to try different strategies to beat opponents. In addition, it is necessary to play the game frequently to build on 8-ball skills to earn more money. However, consecutive losses can quickly kill the spirit of playing an 8-ball pool. If you are struggling with something similar.

After earning pool coins, use them to buy better cues which will give you an edge to win nearly every game. Advanced cues increase the chances of winnings, boosting the number of rewards you get. Although fewer cues will improve your performance, getting more coins gives you cues with advanced shooting power, better aim, and maximum cue ball control. Buy more pool coins and invest in your cues for clean and precise shots.

As you begin your gaming journey, a great 8-ball pool tip to keep in mind is to start on low-entry tables. These have lower entry fees and allow you to try out different strategies. When you perfect your cue shots and improve your cue, advance to higher tables. A table with a higher entry fee has a bigger pot, and you play against more formidable opponents. Take time to learn about the tables before you pay the entry fee.

Plan your shots two or three shots ahead and the type of spin and the shooting power you need. For instance, if you swipe sideways or make your shots faster. The main element of planning your shots is to hit the pocket more accurately and faster. In all online pool games, a white line guides the direction where the ball is pointing. Adjust the white line to see where you can target your next shot. Next, consider the strategy to apply when hitting the remaining balls on the table and how hard/soft the shot should be for a perfect hit. Hitting the ball means more deflection, while a softer hit takes the ball through.

Practice and perfection go hand in hand, even when playing pool. The only way to win online pool games is to practice and refine shooting skills. Advanced players understand power regulation for making perfect shots, choosing the right spin, planning the series, and cueing faster. The best way is by playing against a better opponent to actually understand your strengths and weaknesses. When playing on the Big Cash app, there are multiple contests to choose from. Start with the practice and free tournaments where you use your skills to record the most wins. 17dc91bb1f
