Aadhaar cardholders can retrieve their lost or forgotten UID/EID by authentication via one-time password (OTP) using the website or mAadhaar app. Cardholders are required to pay an amount of Rs 50 for updating their mobile number with or without other demographic data updates. Users can also order Aadhaar reprint in case they are using a non-registered or alternate mobile number. Using a registered mobile number is not mandatory.

The UIDAI or Unique Identification Authority of India, which manages the Aadhaar biometric ID programme, provides a range of services online through its website. It enables users to order a reprint of their Aadhaar card through a paid service, wherein a printed copy of the Aadhaar identity card is sent to the user's registered address. Another facility allows users to check the status of their request for a reprint. Aadhaar-registered users can use this facility through the UIDAI website, uidai.gov.in, or mobile app mAadhaar. Once you enter the OTP and click Submit, you will be taken to a page where you will be asked to pay Rs 50 as reprint charges. The payment gateway will allow you to pay the charges through credit or debit cards, Net banking or UPI.

After you place an order for your Aadhaar reprint, UIDAI will deliver the printed Aadhaar Letter to the post office within 5 business days and this is without the date of request. Aadhaar Letter would be delivered via Speed Post Service of the Department of Post in tangent with DoP delivery standards. You may track the delivery status using DoP Status Track Services.
