### PDF Detection Process
When you click the PDF Downloader icon:

When you click "Download PDFs":

3. If ZIP option is selected, files are bundled locally in your browser

## Permissions Explained
The Extension requests certain permissions to function. Here's exactly why each is needed:
### activeTab Permission
- **Purpose:** To scan the currently active webpage for PDF links
- **How it's used:** Only activated when you click the extension icon
- **Data collected:** None - only identifies PDF URLs
- **Data transmitted:** Nothing
### downloads Permission
- **Purpose:** To save PDF files to your computer
- **How it's used:** Initiates downloads when you click "Download PDFs"
- **Data collected:** None
- **Data transmitted:** None (downloads go directly from source to your device)
### scripting Permission
- **Purpose:** To inject a content script that scans pages for PDFs
- **How it's used:** Analyzes page structure to find PDF links
- **Data collected:** None
- **Data transmitted:** Nothing
### storage Permission
- **Purpose:** To save your preferences (ZIP settings, filename defaults)
- **How it's used:** Stores settings locally using Chrome's storage API

- **Your control:** You can clear this data anytime in Chrome settings

**We only request permissions that are absolutely necessary for the Extension to work. We do not abuse these permissions.**
