Race of Spirits

We are a race of spirits

Come down from the stars

And where once we were united

We find ourselves divided

By irrelevances as stupid

As the make and manufacture

Of the bodies we are driving.

And someone's somehow managed

To turn us on each other

For reasons of race and colour

A proposition as ludicrous

As brother fighting brother

According to the style of the overcoats

They happen to be wearing

Or the model of the cars

They happen to be sitting in.
