Privacy Policy for DoSnap: Scan & Act
Effective Date: October 18, 2026
DoSnap: Scan & Act helps users scan supported documents and review extracted details before saving. Version 1.1 supports business cards, product warranties, next visit notes, event invitations, grocery receipts, and bills and statements.
Information Processed on Device
DoSnap may process scanned images and extracted text locally on your device to identify document types and prepare editable review fields. You remain in control of the result. DoSnap does not add a contact, create a reminder, create a calendar event, save an expense, or save a warranty without your review and confirmation.
Cloud AI Recognition
Depending on your AI Recognition setting, DoSnap may send a photographed document and related recognition context to cloud AI through Firebase AI Logic and Google services, including Google Gemini, for document understanding and structured extraction. New users have Always use AI selected by default after accepting the AI disclosure.
You can select On-device only in Settings. In On-device only mode, the document is not sent to cloud AI, although difficult documents may require manual correction.
Cloud AI processing is subject to the applicable Google and Firebase terms and privacy practices. DoSnap does not intentionally store scanned images, raw OCR text, or AI responses in its Firebase database or analytics.
Anonymous App Identity, Scan Credits, and Purchases
DoSnap does not require account creation or Sign in with Apple. The app uses an anonymous Firebase identifier to associate scan credits, usage totals, purchases, and support requests with the same installation or user record.
When an AI scan pack is purchased through Apple In-App Purchase, DoSnap may store purchase-related information such as the product identifier, transaction identifier, sandbox or production environment, credit amount, timestamps, and resulting scan-credit totals. Apple processes the payment.
DoSnap does not receive or store your payment card number.
The anonymous Support ID can be copied from Settings below Feedback. It helps the developer locate scan-credit and purchase records when responding to support. It is not intended to identify you by name, email address, or Apple account.
Feedback
If you send feedback from Settings or from a review screen, DoSnap may collect your feedback message, category, optional contact information, optional corrected values or details, app version, build number, device model, iOS version, and reviewed extracted fields if you choose to include them. Feedback is stored using Firebase Firestore. Feedback forms do not send scan images.
Please avoid including unnecessary sensitive personal information in feedback. Include your Support ID when contacting support so the developer can locate the relevant anonymous records.
Contacts, Calendar, Reminders, and Photos
DoSnap may request access to Contacts, Calendar, Reminders, and Photos only when you choose an action that requires those permissions, such as adding a contact, creating a calendar event, creating a reminder, or selecting a document or photo. You can deny or revoke these permissions in iOS Settings.
Data Sharing
DoSnap does not sell user data. DoSnap does not use user data for third-party advertising or tracking. Information is shared with Firebase, Google cloud AI services, or Apple only as needed to provide the features described in this policy, process cloud recognition, store app-related records, or complete in-app purchases.
Data Retention
Feedback and anonymous scan-credit or purchase records may be retained to provide support, verify transactions, maintain account balances, diagnose issues, and improve recognition quality. Data stored locally on your device remains under your control unless you choose to send feedback or use cloud AI recognition.
DoSnap does not intentionally retain scanned images, raw OCR text, or AI response payloads in its Firebase database or analytics. Third-party services may retain or process data according to their own terms and privacy practices.
