Ming Wang, PhD

Ming is passionate about big data science paired with the right biological questions and the analytical tools to answer them. At UCSD in Pieter's lab, he has the right combination of collaborations, high throughput analytical mass spectrometry instrumentation, hundreds of thousands of datasets to mine, and the computational infrastructure to really bring it together. He previously was as member of the Nuno Bandeira Lab where he visualized microbe/molecular distribution of the lung in Cystic Fibrosis, Mapped microbe/molecular distribution in the gut microbiome, and developed algorithms to build peptide reference spectral libraries. In addition to this, he also designed and developed crowd sources analysis platform for natural products research
