Introduction
Hello, I am Jimin Yoo, the founder of the Dorim Project.
I moved to the United States in January 2023 from Korea after having been in the Korean education system for most time in my life. I wanted to create a meaningful way to build on my educational experiences as a student in Korea and now in the US.
That vision became the Dorim Passion Project.
The Dorim Project is a nonprofit educational program for students who struggle academically, based on my own learning experiences.
The word "Dorim" means "bracket" in Korean and symbolizes bringing the positive attributes of both the Korean and American curriculum approaches together to provide a path of support for students.
The Dorim Project hopes to create and deliver engaging and practical learning opportunities for students experiencing academic challenges.
As someone who has experienced a similar experience before, I hope to help create a better educational experience for students and to share and grow from opportunities together.
Moreover, Dorim values students who are engaged in the project to later think about how to support other students, creating and expanding the cycle of impact.
