My research interest lies at the intersection of artificial intelligence, developmental psychology and cognitive science. My research goal is to understand the origins and basis of intelligence. How do newborn organisms learn to perceive the world? What are the computational principles and learning algorithms in newborn brains? I attempt to address these problems by building autonomous artificial agents and comparing their learning abilities with newborn animals.
I earned my PhD in Informatics and Cognitive Science from Indiana University, under the guidance of Professor Justin Wood. Prior to this, I completed an M.S. in Computer Science at Stanford University, where I conducted research in Computer Vision and Human-Computer Interaction with Prof. Fei-Fei Li and Prof. Michael Bernstein. I earned my B.S. in Computer Science at Caltech.
