Profile: Donnie is the main protagonist of "Donnie The Fighting Psychopath." He lives in an unnamed country ruled by a brutal dictator commonly referred to as "The Greatest." Due to his utter frustration and anger toward his country and its people, Donnie has unwanted fantasies of committing gruesome murders on his country's twisted and backwards people.
Donnie is a 16-year-old boy with slightly dark skin and black hair. He wears a brown trench coat, a white collared shirt with only the middle, and collar button strapped, black jeans, and black boots. His left eye is bloodshot, which is mostly covered by his hair.
Starting with the episode "Donnie The Fighting Psychopath", Donnie's coat was dyed black. He began to dawn a large purple version of AJ's shirt, wore makeup around his eyes, conformed his hair to resemble devil horns, and wore tall, black, chained boots.
In "Strongish Conclusions", Donnie mostly goes back to normal, but has completely ditched his coat, and still has his devil horn hair.
Donnie is a morbid, antisocial teenage boy who frequently, but unwillingly, fantasizes about brutally murdering and torturing people. Often, he draws pictures of himself either committing murder or being in the place of fictional villains and in-universe serial killers.
Despite frequently complaining about being held back several grades and being treated like a child, Donnie is actually very nostalgic for his childhood and often wishes to relive those days.
Donnie was always close with his parents, Harold and Heather, and always enjoyed playing with his siblings, Lucy and Bobby. He'd always had anger issues as a kid, which only got worse as he got older. Often snapping with seemingly very little provocation, and having many episodes of lashing out at Bobby due to just how frustrating he could find him.
As a baby and toddler, Donnie grew to be obsessed with a cartoon show called “Libby’s Flower Patch” on the Cranium network. The show starred Libby; a green spherical creature who tended to her flower patch every day; with her rival, The Little Red Devil, constantly coming to try and wreck it. Despite the show’s simple nature, Donnie and his siblings were all fans. Though the show would later be canceled, Donnie continued to have an obsession with it, and the title character, even though he couldn’t actually remember much from it. And his obsession would only grow.
As Donnie's 10th birthday neared, he entered a contest Cranium was holding in honor of Libby’s anniversary. The contest, which was essentially just a raffle, gave the winner a one-of-a-kind, life-sized Libby plush. Donnie even wrote a letter directly to the show’s creator, Valentina Garcia, in hopes that it would help him win. Whether or not she even received the letter is unknown, but about a week later, Donnie’s 10th birthday rolled around. He had been feeling pretty disappointed because the contest had already ended with no package in sight, however, just when present giving was about to end, Harold pulled out a surprise package for Donnie, containing, of course, his Libby plush. Donnie would later look back on this as the happiest moment of his life.
Sadly, it wasn’t long after this that Donnie began to slide. The true nature of The Greatest's actions had finally begun to kick in, but he never really seemed too bothered by it. He had, however, begun to grow apart from his siblings, as the two seemed to grow up and mature with time, while Donnie had actively continued wanting to be like a kid, making him start to feel kind of isolated. At the same time, school was getting a lot harder, and more stressful, and his tantrums kept getting worse. Donnie’s coping method was snuggling with his much beloved Libby plush, and thinking back to his younger, and more innocent days.
One day, still in the middle of his first middle school year, Donnie got into trouble with the law after some unfavorable remarks were made about The Greatest during a temper tantrum.
Due to the incident, Donnie was transferred to special class for more troublesome students, was held back a year, and had to be put on a very strict probation in school, where even the smallest infractions could get him held back more at the order of his teachers.
Mysteriously, his parents also got a bunch of jobs around this time, meaning they were no longer ever home, and Lucy had to take the reigns as he and his brother's new caretaker.
Donnie’s bat is an old bat Bobby used for baseball.
Donnie's gothic attire was picked out by AJ.
Donnie was designed as a “typical depiction of a creepy stalker”.
This is in contrast to many of the other characters, who were intentionally given very non-stereotypical designs of their age/occupation/hobby etc.
Donnie’s design was also inspired by The Smiling Man.
Donnie’s bloodshot eye was originally meant to be a red pupil.
This was changed to make him stand out more amongst other similar looking cartoon characters.
Donnie’s ears were designed to resemble knives.
Donnie wears boots because Brandon Luke didn’t know how to draw shoes at the time.
