Affiliate lifeforms will tend to take the form of a person, character, or object the host knows that best suites their role, with some limitation.

For an affiliate to take on a certain form, the host has to be consciously aware of the existence of that form's origin. Two affiliates also can't both take the form of the exact same thing, though they can represent different incarnations of the same thing. There’s also a chance that an affiliate doesn’t truly have the best representation of their role. It’s entirely possible that the best representation for one role is also the best representation for another, so, with seniority in mind, one of those affiliates would be represented by the next best thing. Theoretically, this can also stack to the point where an affiliate is actually a really bad physical representation for their role.

Affiliate lifeforms have an uncanny amount of knowledge about their host's current status with their assigned role. This can be seen with Childhood, who can describe events from Donnie's childhood with extreme accuracy, being able to recall events exactly as they happened.

• Affiliate lifeforms, by nature, unconditionally love their host, in much the same way a mother does her child.
