우리 연구실은 2025년 1월 25일에 영국 Teesside 대학교의 Farzad Pour Rahimian 교수님을 모시고 특별 세미나를 개최하였습니다. Rahimian 교수님은 Teesside 대학교의 컴퓨팅, 공학 및 디지털 기술 학부에서 디지털 엔지니어링 교수로 재직 중이십니다.

세미나에서는 디지털 엔지니어링 분야의 최신 연구 동향과 가상 현실(VR)을 활용한 3D 스케칭이 건축 설계 과정에서의 인지적 변화를 어떻게 촉진하는지에 대한 심도 있는 논의가 이루어졌습니다.

또한, 건설 프로젝트의 협업 계획 방법에서 기능적 요소의 중요성과 BIM(Building Information Modeling) 및 DfMA(Design for Manufacturing and Assembly)**를 통합한 알고리즘 설계 기반 협업에 대한 연구 결과도 공유해 주셨습니다.

이번 세미나는 우리 연구실 구성원들에게 디지털 기술이 건설 및 건축 분야에 어떻게 적용되고 있는지에 대한 깊은 통찰을 제공하는 귀중한 시간이었습니다. Rahimian 교수님의 방문과 강연에 깊은 감사를 드리며, 앞으로도 이러한 학술 교류를 통해 연구 역량을 더욱 강화해 나가겠습니다.

On January 25, 2025, our research lab had the privilege of hosting a special seminar by Professor Farzad Pour Rahimian from Teesside University, UK. Professor Rahimian is a distinguished Professor of Digital Engineering at the School of Computing, Engineering, and Digital Technologies at Teesside University.

During the seminar, Professor Rahimian shared valuable insights into the latest research trends in digital engineering and how VR-based 3D sketching facilitates cognitive transformation in architectural design. This discussion provided an in-depth perspective on the evolving role of digital tools in modern construction and architecture.

Additionally, he presented key findings on collaborative planning methods in construction projects, emphasizing the significance of functional elements and how BIM (Building Information Modeling) and DfMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) can be integrated through parametric and algorithmic design-based collaboration to enhance client engagement in offsite construction. 

This seminar provided our research lab members with invaluable insights into the application of digital technologies in the construction and architectural fields. We sincerely appreciate Professor Rahimian for his visit and inspiring lecture, and we look forward to further academic exchanges to strengthen our research capabilities.
