Design of Materials Laboratory

Welcome to the Design of Materials Laboratory at the School of Minerals, Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar, India.  We use a combination of modelling, simulation and experiments to gain fundamental understanding in Materials. Using this knowledge, we then develop new materials with improved properties for diverse applications such as energy conversion and storage, oxide electronics and multi-component alloys. 

The key areas of our current focus are:

• Ferroics (Piezoelectric, ferroelectric and multiferroics)

• High entropy alloys

• Solid electrolytes for Li-ion battery

• Piezoelectric energy harvesting

• Oxide photovoltaics
