Document Reader - PDF & Office is a document-reading and PDF utility application designed to help users browse, view, organize, scan, and process supported files stored on their Android devices.
The App may provide the following features:

* Browse all supported files stored on the device.
* View recently accessed files.
* Add supported files to bookmarks.
* Scan paper documents and save them as PDF files.
* Scan identification documents and save the resulting images or PDF files.
* Convert images into PDF files.
* Lock supported PDF files with a password.
* Unlock supported PDF files when the user provides the correct password.
* Change the display language of the App.
* Access document tools through an authorized floating tool or shortcut.
Feature availability may vary depending on the device model, Android version, available storage, file format, system services, and permissions granted by the user.
The App does not guarantee compatibility with every file, document structure, password-protection method, image format, or Android device.

II. Local Document Processing
The App is primarily designed to process documents locally on your device.
Files opened, scanned, bookmarked, converted, locked, or unlocked through the App are generally processed and stored on the device.
We do not provide a cloud document-storage service through the App, and we do not intentionally upload or permanently store the contents of your personal documents on our own servers.
Your documents remain under your control. You are responsible for managing, backing up, moving, sharing, or deleting files stored on your device.
Some Android system services or third-party applications may be involved when you open, share, print, or export a file. Those external services operate according to their own terms and privacy policies.

III. User Responsibilities
When using the App, you are responsible for:
* Ensuring that you have the legal right to access and process each document.

You should not rely on the App as the only storage location for important, legal, financial, academic, medical, or business documents.
Because local files are controlled by the user and the Android operating system, we may be unable to restore a file that has been deleted, overwritten, corrupted, moved, or lost.

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes.

V. Document Compatibility and Accuracy

Scanned images may be affected by camera quality, lighting, focus, shadows, document position, movement, and device performance.

VI. ID Scan Disclaimer
The ID Scan feature is provided as a document-capture utility.
It may allow users to photograph, crop, organize, or save an identification document as an image or PDF file.
The ID Scan feature:
* Does not verify the authenticity of an identification document.
* Does not confirm a user’s identity.
* Does not perform government-database verification.
* Does not provide legal identity certification.
* Does not perform facial-recognition authentication.
* Should not be treated as an official identity-verification service.
Users are responsible for ensuring that they have permission to scan and store any identification document.
Identification-document images should be protected carefully because they may contain sensitive personal information.

VII. Locked and Unlocked PDF Files
The App may provide tools to lock or unlock supported PDF files.
You are responsible for remembering passwords applied to documents.
We cannot recover a password that you forget, and we do not guarantee that every password-protected PDF file can be unlocked.
You must not use the unlocking feature to bypass access restrictions on documents you are not authorized to access.
Before modifying or replacing an important file, you should create a backup copy.

VIII. Intellectual Property
The App, including its source code, interface, layout, graphics, branding, text, and technical components, is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
The developer grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App in accordance with these terms.

XVI. Permissions and Their Uses
The App may request the following Android permissions. Permissions are used only when required for the relevant function.
1. Camera Permission
Camera access is used when you actively select:
* Scan to PDF.
* ID Scan.
The camera allows the user to capture document images.
The App does not intentionally activate the camera without a user-initiated action.
Camera images may be temporarily processed and then saved locally in a location selected by the user or determined by the device.
2. Photos, Media, and File Access
Depending on the Android version, the App may request permission to access photos, media, or files.
This permission may be used to:
* Select images.
* Convert images to PDF.
* Open supported documents.
* Save scanned files.
* Display local images.
* Import or export documents.
3. All Files Access
MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
On supported Android versions, the App may request All Files Access because document discovery and management are core functions of the App.
This permission may be used to:
* Scan shared device storage for supported document files.
* Display PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and image files.
* Organize files by format.
* Open user-selected files.
* Display recent files and bookmarks.
* Read source images for conversion.
* Save generated PDF files.
* Lock or unlock supported PDF files.
* Allow users to find documents stored across different folders.
All Files Access is not intended for accessing files unrelated to the App’s document-management functionality.
We do not use this permission to secretly collect, upload, sell, or share the contents of personal files.
4. Display Over Other Apps
SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW
The App may request permission to display content over other applications.
This permission may be used to provide a floating document tool, shortcut, or authorized entry point that allows the user to return to the App or access document functions more conveniently.
The floating feature is displayed only after the user grants permission through Android settings.
This permission is not intended to:
* Read content displayed by another application.
* Record another application’s screen.
* Capture passwords or keyboard input.
* Modify another application.
* Perform identity authentication.
* Interfere with security-sensitive interfaces.
Users may disable this permission at any time through Android system settings. Disabling it will not prevent basic document-reading functions, but the floating feature may become unavailable.
5. Notification Permission
On supported Android versions, the App may request permission to send notifications.
Notifications may be used for:

Users may deny or disable notifications through Android settings.
