DocScan Pro is a mobile application that uses on-device machine learning (Google ML Kit) to extract text from images. You can choose images from your gallery or capture them with your camera, crop them, recognize the text, and export or share the results as plain text or PDF files—all processed locally on your device.
2. Information We Collect
a) Images & Recognized Text
All image processing is performed entirely on your device using Google ML Kit's on-device text recognition.
Your photos and the text extracted from them are never uploaded to our servers.
All processing happens locally on your device, helping protect your privacy.
b) Local Storage Data
DocScan Pro uses local on-device storage (Hive) to save your scan history and application preferences. This information remains on your device and is never transmitted to us.
3. Permissions We Request
Camera – Used to capture images for text recognition.
Photos / Media Library / Storage – Used to select images from your gallery and save exported PDF documents.
We request only the permissions necessary for the core functionality of the app. We do not access your contacts, microphone, location, or other sensitive personal information.
4. Third-Party Services
DocScan Pro integrates the following third-party service:
Google ML Kit (On-Device Text Recognition)
Google ML Kit performs text recognition directly on your device. Image data is not sent to Google for OCR processing.
We do not sell, share, or disclose your personally identifiable information to third parties.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
Since images, extracted text, scan history, and preferences are stored only on your device, you can remove them at any time by:
Clearing the app's data through your device settings.
Deleting individual scan history within the app (if available).
Uninstalling DocScan Pro.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to help protect your information.
Because all image processing and text recognition occur locally on your device, your information remains under your control. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
