Welcome to Doclume PDF Toolkit ("the App," "we," "us," or "our"). We value your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect information when you use the App, and the choices available to you. Please read it carefully before using the App.
By using the App, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Process
Files and document content on your device: To provide PDF listing, viewing and previewing, editing, sorting, searching, deleting, renaming, sharing, recent-file history, favorites, scan to PDF, image to PDF, PDF splitting, PDF merging, PDF locking, PDF unlocking, and language switching, the App needs access to files you choose to process or that the App can identify on your device. PDF processing is generally performed locally on your device. We do not upload or store the content of your PDF files on our servers.
File management permission: The App requires file management permission to read, display, organize, save, edit, delete, rename, share, and process your documents. You may revoke this permission in Android settings at any time, but some features will no longer work.
Foreground service information: When you initiate scanning, conversion, or file-processing tasks, the App may use a foreground service to keep processing stable while the task runs and to display a system notification.
Device, network, and identifier information: We may collect general location, IP address, Android ID, device model, operating-system version, language settings, and network information for security, compatibility, analytics, advertising, and ad measurement.
Crash logs and in-app interaction data: We may collect crash logs, performance information, and in-app interaction data, such as feature taps, page visits, onboarding completion, and feature-use frequency, to diagnose problems and improve the App.
2. How We Use Information
Provide and maintain the service: To display and process your PDFs, images, and scans, and to keep App functions and foreground tasks operating properly.
Improve the product experience: To analyze failures, fix bugs, and improve onboarding, the interface, language support, and feature performance.
Advertising services: The App contains advertising. We and our advertising partners may use general location, IP address, Android ID, or other device identifiers to display ads, cap ad frequency, prevent fraud, measure ad performance, and, where permitted by applicable law, deliver personalized ads.
Security and legal compliance: To maintain service security, prevent misuse, and comply with applicable legal requirements.
3. Storage, Sharing, and Disclosure
Local files: Your file content remains on your device. Unless you actively use the Share feature to send a file to another app or service, we do not receive, upload, or store the content of your PDF files.
Service providers: We may share necessary device, network, identifier, log, and interaction information with third-party providers that provide crash analytics, analytics, advertising, or technical-support services. These providers may process the information only in accordance with their privacy policies and applicable law.
Advertising partners: Third-party advertising SDKs may independently collect or receive device and advertising-related information. Their data practices are governed by their own privacy policies. You can manage ad personalization or reset your advertising identifier in your device settings, where available.
Legal requirements: We may disclose necessary information when required by law, regulation, legal process, or a lawful request from a public authority.
4. Data Retention and Security
Retention: We retain non-file information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer period is required by law.
Security measures: We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or loss. However, no transmission or storage method is completely secure.
5. Your Choices and Rights
Permission management: You may grant or revoke file management, notification, and other relevant permissions in Android settings.
File control: You can view, edit, delete, or manage local files through the App or your device file manager.
Advertising controls: You may limit ad personalization, reset your advertising identifier, or manage relevant preferences in your device settings. Available options depend on your device and operating-system version.
Stop using the App: You may uninstall the App to stop future collection. Uninstalling does not automatically delete files you chose to keep on your device; please delete local files you no longer need.
6. Children's Privacy
Children: The App is not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us.
7. Changes to This Policy
Updates: We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be made available in the App or on its Google Play listing, with a revised Last Updated date. Your continued use after the update takes effect means that you accept the updated Policy.
