Consultation & Resource Development

If you're looking for ideas for including LGBTQ books into your classroom or some other environment, or if you want help building up resources around a book or theme, I'm here to help! I've developed discussion guides for a few YA novels, and I've also worked with SOGI 123 on building a vetted and annotated Book List for educators who are working to incorporate more LGBTQ topics and literature into their work and their classrooms.

Beta Reader

"Rob Bittner was a lifesaver while I was working on the manuscript for my second book. Not only did he arm me with strategies to help me overcome my writer’s block, he is also an incredibly keen reader and sounding board whose feedback helped me hone and revise a first draft I was confident enough to submit to my publisher."

-Christine Baldacchino, author of Morris Micklewhite and the Tangerine Dress (2014)

"I hired Rob to do a sensitivity read on a middle grade novel. His thoughtful and thorough advice was invaluable, and I highly recommend his services. He was extremely flexible with timing and quick to deliver, which was a life-saver on a pending deadline!"

-Karen Rivers, author of love, ish (2017), and other novels for young readers

"Rob Bittner’s work as a sensitivity reader for my ... novel Jaya and Rasa: A Love Story was invaluable. He offered constructive, expert comments that helped me shape the character of Jaya."

-Sonia Patel, author of Morris Award Finalist Rani Patel in Full Effect (2016)
